THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
[No. 93

Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Lower Hutt Borough Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street, described in the Schedule hereto, of a width of less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the said street within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said street.

SCHEDULE.

THAT proposed street off Witako Street in the Wellington Land District, Borough of Lower Hutt, adjoining or passing through a subdivision of Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, D.P. 1262. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 73212, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments of that Act, and all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that the following shall, from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, be the only class-books that teachers in public schools shall be authorized to require their pupils to purchase for school use.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Auckland of a Width of less than 66 ft. but not less than 51 ft.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Amendment Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Auckland City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto of a width of less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty-one feet.

THAT proposed street in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 19·3 perches, being Crown land, formerly portion of Allotment 29, Section 8, Suburbs of Auckland. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 73910, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Altering the Route of the Christchurch–Dunedin Main Highway, No. 15 Highway District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of November, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, from the date of gazetting of this Order in Council, declare that the portion of main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be a main highway, and that the roads and streets described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

CHRISTCHURCH–DUNEDIN.—All that portion of the Christchurch–Dunedin Main Highway commencing at the junction of Cemetery Road and West Street, Block XIII, Ashburton Survey District, and proceeding generally in a south-westerly direction via the said West Street and the North-east Town Belt, and terminating at the junction of the said North-east Town Belt and East Street, being a distance of 56 chains more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 73744, and thereon coloured red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

CHRISTCHURCH–DUNEDIN.—All that road or portion of road in the Ashburton County commencing at the junction of West Street and Cemetery Road, Block XIII, Ashburton Survey District, and proceeding generally in a south-easterly and south-westerly direction via the said Cemetery Road and East Street, and terminating at the northern boundary of the Borough of Ashburton, being a distance of 16 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 73744, and thereon coloured green.

Also all that street or portion of street in the Borough of Ashburton, commencing at the northern boundary of the said Borough of Ashburton and proceeding generally in a south-westerly direction via East Street and terminating at the junction of the North-east Town Belt and the said East Street, being a distance of 40 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 73744, and thereon coloured green.
