PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £850, authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of metalling Whakahoro Road from West Road to East Road, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Whakahoro West Road Special-rating Area of the Piako County, comprising all that area in the Land District of Auckland bounded commencing at a point in the southern boundary of Section 6, Block X, Waitoa Survey District, ten chains from West Road; towards the west by a line at right angles to such boundary for fifty chains; towards the north by the centre-line eastward of Sections 6 and 7, northern boundary of Section 12, and centre-line eastward of Sections 9, 10, and 11, Block X, Waitoa Survey District, to a point six and a half chains from East Road; towards the east by direct line at right angles to a point in the southern boundary of said Section 11, seven and a half chains from East Road; and towards the south generally by the Whakahoro Road for another seven and a half chains westward, and by the crossing of this road, and by a line in Lot 41, Waitoa Estate Subdivision, parallel with No. 1 Road, fifteen chains therefrom for a distance of ten chains; thence by a line in Lots 41, 42, and 83, Waitoa Estate Subdivision, parallel with the Whakahoro Road, ten chains therefrom for a distance of one hundred and fifteen chains; thence by a line parallel with No. 7 Road to the Whakahoro Road one chain beyond West Road, and eastward along the Whakahoro Road for twelve chains, and across same to the point of commencement; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Piako County Council held in Te Aroha on Monday, the 19th day of November, 1928.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership subsisting between us, and carried on under the name of “Young Bros.,” at Number 62 Lambton Quay and Number 1 Park Street, in the City of Wellington, was dissolved on the 7th day of October, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 19th day of November, 1928, presented to the Honourable Alexander Samuel Adams, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by R. Wilson and Co., Limited, a company duly incorporated under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, having its registered office at Numbers 18 and 20 Bond Street, Dunedin, and carrying on business there and elsewhere in New Zealand as General Merchants, a creditor of the said company: And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 7th day of December, 1928: And any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of the order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of the hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose, and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above company held on 31st October, 1928, the subjoined resolution was duly passed, and at an extraordinary general meeting of the company held on 21st November, 1928, the subjoined resolution was duly confirmed as a special resolution, viz.:—
“That the TAKAPUNA TRAMWAYS AND FERRY COMPANY, LIMITED, be wound up voluntarily.”
And at the last above-named meeting JAMES ALEXANDER GENTLES, of Auckland, Public Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and their Amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes, at Wilton Road and Merton Road in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at his said office.
