I hereby declare the proposal carried.

BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Koputuroa Subdivision in the Buckley Drainage District taken on the 24th day of October, 1928, on the proposal of the Buckley Drainage Board to borrow the sum of one thousand pounds for deepening the Koputuroa Stream and grading the bed of the stream from the Railway Bridge to the junction of the stream with the Manawatu River, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 17; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Alterations of Boundaries—Borough of Waipawa.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the areas described in the First and Second Schedules hereto may be excluded from the Borough of Waipawa and included in the counties of Patangata and Waipawa respectively.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alterations of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF WAIPAWA, AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF PATANGATA.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the north-western boundary of Block 44, Patangata C.G.D., with the left bank of the Waipawa River; thence north-westerly along the left bank of that river to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3 on Plan No. 2754 (Hao-whenua Block), deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence north-easterly by that boundary to and across a public road; thence north-westerly through Lot 48 on deeds plan No. 16 on approximate bearings of 341° and 364° for approximate distances of 1850 and 1200 links respectively, and continuing thence by a straight line through Lots 48, 25, 24, part Block 37, Patangata C.G.D., on the deeds plan No. 16, to and across a public road to the north-eastern corner of Lot 23 on the aforesaid deeds plan No. 16; thence westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 23, 22, 21, 20, part Block 45, Patangata C.G.D., on the aforesaid deeds plan No. 16, to the south-eastern corner of Lot 1; thence generally northerly by the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3 on the aforesaid deeds plan No. 16, and Lots 4, 5, 6, on plan No. 1516, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, and by the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Lot 6 to the Wellington-Napier Railway; thence by the eastern side of the said railway to its intersection with the western side of the Waipawa-Patangata Road; thence by the western side of that road to the centre of a junction of roads on the existing borough boundary as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1927, No. 39, page 1998; thence easterly along the aforesaid borough boundary, being the middle of a public road to its north-eastern corner at a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 36, part Block 37, Patangata C.G.D.; thence southerly by the aforesaid borough boundary to and along the western boundaries of Lots 36, 44, part of the aforesaid Block 37, Patangata C.G.D., to the northern boundary of Block 22; thence westerly and south-westerly by the northern and north-western boundaries of the said Block 22, and north-western boundary of Block 44 of the aforesaid Patangata C.G.D. to the south-western corner of the said Block 44, the point of commencement.
