City of Auckland.

PURSUANT to section 76, subsection (7), of the Auckland Transport Board Act, 1928, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 31st day of October, 1928, on the proposal “That the Auckland Transport Board Act, 1928, shall come into operation.”

The number of votes recorded for and against the proposal were as follows: Votes recorded for the proposal, 3,870; votes recorded against the proposal, 637; informal, 32.

I therefore declare that the foregoing proposal was carried.

Auckland Transport Board.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, I hereby declare that the result of a poll held on 31st October, 1928, in the Boroughs of Mount Eden, Mount Albert, Newmarket, and Onehunga, the Road Districts of One Tree Hill, Mount Roskill, and Mount Wellington, the Town District of Ellerslie, and the Township of Panmure, on a proposal “That the Auckland Transport Board Act, 1928, shall come into operation,” the following votes were given:—

For the proposal, 4,089; against the proposal, 745; informal, 50.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried in the above-mentioned districts.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections will be offered for sale at the Conference Hall, Dominion Farmers’ Buildings, Wellington, at 7.30 o’clock p.m., on Wednesday, the 5th December, 1928.

The sections may be purchased for cash; for cash by instalments; or on special deferred payments under the provisions of the Hutt Valley Lands Settlement Act, 1925, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

The main blocks to be offered at this sale are adjacent to Waterloo Station, and comprise excellent residential sections fronting Oxford and Cambridge Terraces and Cressy Street. The roading is practically completed, whilst drainage, sewerage, gas, and electric lighting are being provided. Building operations may be commenced immediately.

In addition to the above a number of sections are being offered in different parts of the settlement, so that intending purchasers have a wide range of sections to choose from.
