SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—TONGA OR FRIENDLY ISLANDS.—VAVAU GROUP.—NEIAFU HARBOUR.

Kilikili Leading Beacons : Amended Depths.

Position : Lat. 18° 39' S., long. 173° 59' W. (approx.).
Details: The Commodore commanding New Zealand Station furnishes the following report from H.M.S. "Veronica":—

"Least depth on Kilikili leading line Neiafu Vavau, is five and a half fathoms. The bottom shoals to four and a half fathoms sixteen yards to the southward of the line and forty-eight yards to the northward of it. It is therefore recommended that deep-draught vessels be instructed to keep to the northward of the leading line leaving Galloway Rock Buoy forty-five yards to the northward of them."

Notice to Mariners No. 71 of 1928.

Wellington, N.Z., 23rd October, 1928.

NEW ZEALAND.—COOK STRAIT.—WANGANUI HARBOUR.

Lighted Anchorage Beacons established.

Former Notice : Wellington Notice No. 44 of 1928, paragraph 1 of which is hereby cancelled.
Position : Signal station on summit of North Head, in lat. 39° 57' S., long. 175° 00' E. (approx.).
Details : White pyramidal anchorage beacons with surmounts, in transit 008° and 123 yards apart horizontally, have been established north-westward of the signal-station on North Head. Each beacon exhibits a fixed green light, visible 4 miles over an arc of 50° (approx.) on each side of their transit-line.

Front beacon : 19 ft. in height, and having a 10 ft. square surmount with red and white quadrants, is situated 316° 1·31 miles from the harbour light at North Head. The base of the beacon is 9 ft., the top 28 ft., and the focal plane of the light 27½ ft. above M.H.W.S.
Rear Beacon : 20 ft. in height, and having a 10 ft. circular disc white with red centre, is situated 318° 1·35 miles from the harbour light at North Head. The base of the beacon is 92 ft., the top 112 ft., and the focal plane of the light 106 ft. above M.H.W.S.
Remarks : Ships intending to anchor are advised to approach with the North Mole lighthouse (a red truncated pyramid)

and the rear bar or entrance beacon (10 ft. circular disc surmount white with black centre and black stripe under) in transit 063°, until the anchorage beacons are in transit 008°. This defines the best anchorage, in 8 fathoms, for working lighters.
Both the North Mole lighthouse and the rear bar or entrance beacon show a fixed red light ; but it should not be overlooked that when ships are crossing the bar outwards two red lights vertically disposed are shown from the rear bar or entrance beacon.

Notice to Mariners No. 72 of 1928.

Wellington, N.Z., 24th October, 1928.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.—TIRI TIRI MATANGI.

Shearer Rock Buoy washed away.

Position : Tiri Tiri Matangi in lat. 36° 36' S., long. 174° 54' E. (approx.).
Details : The red buoy moored eastward of the 22 ft. rock 3½ cables south-eastward of Shearer Rock, has been washed away.
Remarks : Further notice will be issued when this buoy has been replaced in its position.

In the matter of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that an Instrument of Dissolution has been registered in my office, by the Stewart Fruit-packing Association, Limited, and that unless proceedings to set aside such dissolution be instituted within three months from the date of the Gazette containing this notice, and such dissolution is set aside accordingly, the said society will be legally dissolved.
