COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
PURSUANT to the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the formation, metalling, and channelling of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and the road described in the Second Schedule hereto is required to be closed.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, 150 Childers Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or of the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands, are required to state their objections in writing, and send the same to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers on or before the 15th day of October, 1928.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of lands to be taken is 6 acres 0 roods 0·05 perches, being portions of Lot I, D.P. 2693, and Lot I, D.P. 2694, of Ngakaroa Block, Block VI, Waimata Survey District, marked pink on Plan 1261 (brown), 5 acres 3 roods 32 perches. Lot 3, D.P. 2562, of Ngakaroa Block, Block VI, Waimata Survey District, marked blue on Plan 1261 (brown), 13 perches.
All situated in the Gisborne Land District.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of road to be closed is 5 acres 1 rood 16 perches, being portion of Ngakaroa Block, Block VI, Waimata Survey District, marked green on Plan 1261 (brown), 5 acres 1 rood 16 perches.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Dunedin on the 7th day of September, 1928, the following resolution was duly passed as a special resolution:—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908.”
And at a subsequent general meeting of the said company held at Dunedin on the 24th day of September, 1928, the said resolution was duly confirmed as a special resolution, and Mr. W. E. C. REID was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of the winding-up.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.
I, ALFRED DAVID KERR, of Christchurch, now and heretofore called and known by the name of “Alfred David Nickolls,” hereby give public notice that on the 17th day of September, 1928, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of “Kerr,” and then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Nickolls” instead of the said name of “Kerr”: And I give further notice that by a deed poll dated the 17th day of September, 1928, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at the City of Christchurch on the 3rd day of October, 1928, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Kerr,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Nickolls” instead of “Kerr,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of “Alfred David Nickolls.”

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.
NOTICE is hereby given that I, RONALD STEWART NIELSEN, of Waitoa, Thames District, in the Dominion of New Zealand, lately called “Ronald Stewart Hill” have this day executed a certain deed poll (intended to be enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand) whereby I have renounced the use of the names “Ronald Stewart Hill,” and in lieu thereof have assumed and adopted the names “Ronald Stewart Nielsen.”

ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE PHARMACY BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is my intention to proceed on Saturday, the 10th day of November, 1928, to the election of eight registered pharmaceutical chemists of New Zealand to serve as members of the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand, in the place of the members who retire on the 31st day of December, 1928, and are eligible for re-election. Members will require to be elected as follows:—
Two members for the Central District, to be elected by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Wellington, the boundaries of which are the same as those of the Provincial Districts of Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, and Marlborough. The retiring members are GEORGE BAGLEY and FREDERICK CASTLE, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Auckland, to be elected by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Auckland, the boundaries of which are the same as those of the Provincial Districts of Auckland and Taranaki. The retiring members are HAROLD TREVELYAN KING and EDWARD SMITH, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Canterbury, to be elected by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Canterbury, the boundaries of which are the same as those of the Provincial Districts of Canterbury and Westland. The retiring members are RALPH READER PARNHAM and Arthur Joseph Derbridge, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Otago, to be elected by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Otago. The retiring members are JAMES WATERS and ROBERT MERRETT WILKINSON, who are eligible for re-election.
Nominations will close at the office of the Registrar, 49 Ballance Street, Wellington, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 24th day of October, 1928.
Forms of nomination may be obtained on application to the Registrar or the Deputy Registrars.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR SHINGLE RESERVE.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Native Land Act, 1909, to execute a public work—namely, the construction of a public road and creation of a shingle reserve—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the said road and of the land required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at the office of the Bay of Islands County Council, Albert Street, Kawakawa; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of such public work, or by the taking of such land, shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of such public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Council Office, Kawakawa.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of land required to be taken: 4 acres 2 roods 18 perches, being part of Otahi No. 1c No. 1. Situated in Blocks III and IV, Punakitere Survey District, and coloured red on the said plan. (Plan No. 24911.)
