REGULATION 10.—PENALTIES.

(1) Any person committing a breach of these regulations which involves the unlawful supplying or procuring of any dangerous drug, or the unlawful offering to supply or procure any dangerous drug, shall, if he has previously been convicted of an offence against the said Act or these regulations involving unlawful supplying, procuring, or offering as aforesaid, be liable to a fine of £50 and imprisonment for a term of three months.

(2) Any person committing any other breach of these regulations shall be liable to a fine of £50.

NEW ZEALAND CUSTOMS.

LICENSE TO IMPORT DANGEROUS DRUGS.

Certificate of Official Approval of Importation.

I HEREBY certify that the Minister of Customs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the law relating to dangerous drugs to which the International Opium Convention of 1925 applies, has approved the importation by

(a) [Name, address, and business of importer], of (b) [Exact description and amount of drug to be imported], from (c) [Name and address of firm in exporting country from which the drug is to be obtained], subject to the following conditions—namely, (d) [State any special conditions to be observed—e.g., not to be imported through the post], and is satisfied that the consignment proposed to be imported is required

(1) For legitimate purposes (in the case of raw opium and coca leaf);

(2) solely for medicinal or scientific purposes (in the case of drugs to which Chapter III of the Convention applies and Indian hemp).

This license is valid only if the drugs set forth herein are imported within months from the date of issue of this license.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE TO AUTHORIZE THE IMPORTATION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS.

In accordance with the Dangerous Drugs Regulations I [Full name], Manager (or Chief Clerk, or as the case may be), of [Name of company or firm], carrying on business as [Nature of business] at [Place where business carried on], hereby make application for a license under the Dangerous Drugs Regulations to authorize me (my firm or my company) to import the undermentioned dangerous drugs at the port of , New Zealand:

Name, Nature, and Description of Dangerous Drugs. [Each substance or preparation to be shown separately.] Quantities desired to be imported. Name and Address of Person, Firm, or Company in Exporting Country from whom the Drugs will be obtained.

And I do hereby declare that the drugs described herein are required, and, if imported, will (in the case of raw opium and coca leaf) be used for legitimate purposes and (in the case of other drugs) will be used solely for medicinal or scientific purposes.
