of New Zealand Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of
Commander, 3rd Field Brigade, N.Z.A., and Artillery
Group, Southern Command, and is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Class I ($b$), R.D. 10. Dated 1st September, 1928.
Major J. G. Jeffery, M.C., Regiment of New Zealand Artillery
is appointed Commander, 3rd Field Brigade, N.Z.A., and
Artillery Group, Southern Command, and is granted the
temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st September, 1928.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED
RIFLES.
2nd Lieutenant W. L. Rutherford, from the Canterbury
Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 21st August,

Major R. F. Mitchell, V.D., is transferred to the Reserve of

2nd Lieutenant J. Melville, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to
the Hauraki Regiment. Dated 9th August, 1928.
The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant W. C. Wylie ceases to be seconded to the 4th
C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his
original seniority. Dated 21st August, 1928.
Captain J. V. M. Cauty, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the
Taranaki Regiment. Dated 20th August, 1928.
The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant B. Barrington ceases to be seconded to the 4th
C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his
original seniority. Dated 17th August, 1928.
2nd Lieutenant L. K. Fear, from the N.Z. Army Service Corps,
to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty with the
2nd C Battalion. Dated 21st August, 1928.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant J. S. Peel ceases to be seconded to the 2nd
C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his
original seniority. Dated 17th August, 1928.
The Taranaki Regiment.
Captain G. H. Weir ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C Bat-
talion, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion,
with his original seniority. Dated 18th August, 1928.
Captain J. V. M. Cauty, from the Wellington Regiment, to be
Captain, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 11th
August, 1927. Dated 20th August, 1928.
The Canterbury Regiment.
Lieutenant J. D. H. Buchanan ceases to be seconded to the 1st
C Battalion, and is seconded for duty with the 6th C Bat-
talion. Dated 17th August, 1928.
Lieutenant P. Nicol, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Class II ($b$), R.D. 10. Dated 20th
August, 1928.
Lieutenant W. M. Satterthwaite, 1st Battalion, resigns his

to the Queen Alexandra’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted
Rifles. Dated 21st August, 1928.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
2nd Lieutenant L. K. Fear is transferred to the Wellington
West Coast Regiment. Dated 21st August, 1928.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain M. McK. McRae ceases to be attached to the 1st
Battalion, Waikato Regiment, and is attached to the Central
Depot, N.Z. Army Service Corps. Dated 15th August,
1928.
William Samuel Rainey Dick, L.R.C.P., Eng., L.R.C.S., Eng.,
to be Lieutenant, and is attached for duty to the 1st
Battalion, Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated
23rd June, 1928.
Captain G. E. Waterworth, M.B., is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers. Dated 23rd August, 1928.
Captain M. G. Louisson, M.B., is posted to the Retired List,
with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed
uniform. Dated 24th August, 1928.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Patangata County Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the
special-rating district created for the purpose of the Otane
Town Hall and Otane Recreation-ground Loan was taken on
the 12th day of July, 1928, on the proposal to borrow the
sum of five hundred and sixty-five pounds (£565) for the
purpose of repaying the Council’s agreed proportion of the
maturing loan on the Otane Town Hall and Otane Recreation-
ground.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was six (6),
and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was
one (1). The number of informal votes was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Dated this 14th day of August, 1928.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the
person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule
hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery
or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28
of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order
in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no
postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own
or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the
address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall
be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New
Zealand.
