Alteration of System of Rating in the Kihikihi Rabbit District.—Notice No. Ag. 2735.

THE following notice, given under the hand of the Returning Officer of the Kihikihi Rabbit District, constituted under Part III of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908, relating to a poll held pursuant to section 4 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1920, is published for general information.

SYSTEM OF RATING.

Result of Poll held on 19th July, 1928.

Notice is hereby given that the number of votes recorded on the proposal to alter system of rating—viz., “That in lieu of the power to levy rates conferred by section 82 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908, the Board may levy rates on an acreage basis for the purposes referred to in that section ”—was

For the proposal, 4; against the proposal, nil.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Election of Member of Hawke’s Bay Land Board.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 31st July, 1928.

I, JAMES DUNCAN THOMSON, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was Cornelius John O’Reilly, Esquire, of Porangahau. I do, therefore, hereby declare that the said Cornelius John O’Reilly is duly elected a member of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board as from the 28th day of August, 1928.

Dated at Napier, this 31st day of July, 1928.
