HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
James Edwin Green, Esquire, of Turua,
to be Returning Officer and Person to Prepare the Roll of Electors in connection with the first election of the Board of the Netherton Drainage District; also to appoint Wednesday, the 12th day of September, 1928, to be the day, and the Netherton Public Hall, Netherton, to be the place, for holding such election; also to appoint Monday, the 17th day of September, 1928, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon to be the day and the hour, and the Netherton Public Hall, Netherton, to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board so elected.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Milton.—Notice No. Ag. 2733.

THE following special order, passed by the Milton Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 13th day of June, 1928, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on the 11th day of July, 1928, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, the Milton Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the Third Schedule in the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) are noxious weeds within the Borough of Milton.

Broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Dock (Rumex, any species).
Elderberry (Sambucus niger).
Gorse (Ulex europæus).
Wild turnip (Brassica campestris).
Wanganui Education Board.—Election of Members.
IT is hereby notified that at the biennial election of members of the Education Board of the District of Wanganui, the number of votes recorded for each candidate was as follows:—
Wanganui Urban Area.

The number of valid votes recorded was 65.
The number of votes rejected as informal was 2.
North Ward.

I hereby declare Messrs. William Alfred Collins, William Adams, James Stanley Tingey, Alfred Samuel Coleman, and William Stephen Woodrofe elected as members of the Board for the Wanganui Urban Area, North Ward, South Ward, West Ward, and Palmerston North Urban Area, respectively.

Education Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay.—Election of Members.
IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, I hereby declare that the following persons have been duly elected as members of the Education Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay:—
Gisborne Urban Area: Wauchop, John Stewart.
Napier Urban Area: Thomson, Joseph Clark.
Hasting Urban Area: Maddison, George Alfred.
North Ward of the Rural Area: Kirk, James Robert.
Middle Ward of the Rural Area: McKay, Gilbert.
South Ward of the Rural Area: Cuthbertson, William, and Quigley, Herbert Sydney McGowan.
For the Gisborne Urban Area, the Napier Urban Area, the Hastings Urban Area, the North Ward of the rural area, and the Middle Ward of the rural area, the number of duly nominated candidates was equal to the number of persons to be elected.
For the South Ward of the rural area the voting was as follows:—

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and its amendments, it is hereby publicly notified that the following persons have been duly elected as members of the Education Board of the District of Southland:—
Invercargill Urban Area: Alfred William Jones.
East Ward: Stanley Rice.
West Ward: John Charles Thomson.
Central Ward: Louis Evans.
The number of votes recorded in favour of the respective candidates was as follows:—

The total number of valid votes recorded was 182. The number of votes rejected as informal was 6.
