Governor-General may by Order in Council appoint for each or any district constituted under the Maori Councils Act, 1900, a Council consisting of an official member as provided by section eight thereof, and seven other Maori members:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by subsection two of section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto to be the Maori Council for the Maori Council District of Wharekauri.

Adding certain Chattels to the Seventh Schedule to the Chattels Transfer Act, 1924.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of August, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection six of section fifty-seven of the Chattels Transfer Act, 1924 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor-General, if satisfied that a practice has been established of dealing with any specific chattels or class of chattels by the method of hire-purchase, or that it is desirable in the public interest that such practice should become established in respect of any specific chattels or class of chattels, may from time to time, by Order in Council, add to the class of chattels defined in the Seventh Schedule to the said Act any other chattels or class of chattels, and that thereafter such chattels or class of chattels may be the subject of customary hire-purchase agreements:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor-General is satisfied that a practice has been established of dealing with the chattels defined in the Schedule hereto, by the method of hire-purchase:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Dominion, doth hereby add to the class of chattels defined in the Seventh Schedule to the said Act the chattels defined in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Allocating Cost of certain Proceedings under Section 131 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, in regard to Proposed Constitution of Borough consisting of Taradale Town District and Portion of Greenmeadows District, Hawke’s Bay County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of August, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section one hundred and thirty-one of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that the Taradale Town Board shall defray all the costs of the Commission appointed under the said Act by a Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General dated the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, to inquire into and report upon the proposal contained in the petition praying for the constitution of the borough consisting of Taradale Town District and Greenmeadows District, Hawke’s Bay County.

A Street in the City of Auckland exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of August, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, viz.:

“The Auckland City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Auckland, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of street adjoining Lots 10, 11, and 12 on D.P. 20399, being lots in a subdivision of Allotments 211 to 214, 281, 282, and 362, Whau Township South”;

such street being described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that street, situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, adjoining Lots 10, 11, and 12 on D.P. 20399, being lots in a subdivision of Allotments 211 to 214, 281, 282, and 362, Whau Township South, Block VII, Titirangi Survey District. As the said street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 72643, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the Borough of Timaru of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 49 ft. 6 in.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of August, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Timaru Borough Council to permit the laying-off of the street described in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty-nine feet six inches, it being inexpedient to lay off such street of a width of sixty-six feet.

SCHEDULE.

THAT street in the Canterbury Land District, Borough of Timaru, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, through Lots 8, 9, 10, and parts 5 and 7, D.P. 1, being part Rural Section 1652. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 72065, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
