The sections, which form the first group to be offered of
the Orakei Garden Suburb, are situated on the Orakei
Peninsula within easy distance of the proposed Orakei
Railway-station. The land is in grass, and from level to
gently sloping. The views obtainable of Rangitoto, the
Waitemata Harbour, and Hauraki Gulf are unsurpassed by
any in Auckland. The subdivision has been laid out on
modern town-planning principles, with numerous reserves
for the benefit of the residents.
The formation of the internal roading, including the laying
of water and sewerage pipes, is proceeding rapidly, while
the construction of a direct road to Auckland along the
water-front has been commenced, and will be pushed on to
completion. Access at present is along the Orakei Road,
and plans for a new ferro-concrete bridge to replace the
present wooden structure over the Orakei Creek are now
being prepared, and the erection of the bridge will be com-
menced at an early date.
When the railway is opened and the water-front road
finished the sections will be within ten minutes of Auckland
by either train or motor, and on account of their proximity
to the city and their magnificent views they are admirably
suited for residential purposes.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS RELATING TO SECTIONS PURCHASED ON
DEFERRED PAYMENTS.
- The sections shall be used for residential purposes only.
- No buildings shall be erected at a less distance than
15 ft. from the road-boundary, as indicated by the line
drawn on the plan. - It shall not be lawful for any person to acquire on
deferred payments more than two allotments of land, and
where any person so acquires two allotments such allotments
shall be contiguous. - Except on the recommendation of the Land Board, and
with the approval of the Minister of Lands, it shall not be
