IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and clause twenty-seven of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the assignment to John Alfred Pothan, of Wairoa, Garage-proprietor, by Joseph King, of the latter's rights, powers, and privileges under the Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen (authorizing Henry Bodley to take and use water from a tributary of the Mangaone Stream in Section 5, Block XIII, Maungaharuru Survey District, in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, for the purpose of generating electricity, and also to erect and maintain electric lines), and under the Order in Council dated the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, consenting to the assignment by the said Henry Bodley of his aforesaid rights, powers, and privileges to the said Joseph King.

Consenting under the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, to the Raising of a Loan by the Greymouth Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of January, 1928.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the Greymouth Borough Council of the sum of seven hundred pounds for the purpose of paying off the unredeemed portion of a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds, subject to the condition that the local authority shall repay the said sum by annual instalments of one hundred pounds each.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waipa County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 2 roods 0Β·7 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Allotments 124, 141, and 142, Pukete Parish, Block XVI, Newcastle Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 24466.)

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan by the Palmerston North Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of January, 1928.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Palmerston North Borough Council has obtained, in terms of section fourteen of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, exemption from the requirements of that Act in respect of the Recreation-ground and Agricultural College Loan of ten thousand pounds:

And whereas application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the said local authority to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds, and it is expedient that such precedent consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loan of ten thousand pounds by the Palmerston North Borough Council, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan.
