NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—WEST COAST.—HOKITIKA HARBOUR.
General Harbour Signals temporarily discontinued.
Position: Lat. 42° 43′ S., long. 170° 59′ E. (approx.).
Details: The General Harbour Signals, comprising Tidal Signals, Bar or Danger Signals, and Night Signals for Open Roadsteads, &c., shown from the flagstaff at the north side of the river-entrance, have been temporarily discontinued whilst repairs are being made to the flagstaff; during which signals to “take the bar” will be made by means of flags of the International Code of Signals. The beacons and the semaphore guiding-signals continue unaltered. Notice will be issued when repairs have been completed.

Alteration in Light.
Former Notice: Wellington Notice No. 13 of 1925.
Position: On the summit of Tuhuia Islet (Cow Island). Lat. 36° 48½′ S., long. 175° 24′ E. (approx.).
Abridged Description: Fl. W. ev. 8 sec., 105 ft., 6 M. (U).
Alteration: The character of the light has been altered from fixed white to flashing white every 8 seconds, thus: flash, 0·4 sec., eclipse, 7·6 sec.
Note.—The light is unwatched.

Child Welfare Amendment Act, 1927.
IN pursuance of the power vested in me by section 6, subsection (1), of the Child Welfare Amendment Act, 1927, I, Robert Alexander Wright, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that the premises set forth in the Schedule below have been registered, as from the date hereof, as Children’s Homes for the purposes of the said Act.
