George Henry Hickman, and
James Edward John Monaghan

to be the Newman Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the residence of Mr. H. G. Brookes, Newman, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of July, 1928.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council gazetted, on the recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and on and after the date so specified the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that portions of Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 and portion of Hohoura Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, as described in the Schedule hereto, be excepted from the operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that portions of Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 and portion of Hohoura Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Mangonui County, containing a total area of 1,795 acres, more or less, being portions of Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, containing 186 acres and 1,421 acres, and portion of Hohoura Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, containing 188 acres: As the same are more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 15/77A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plans 24167, 24447, 24449.)
