LEAMINGTON TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Leamington Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Leamington
Town Board Water Reticulation Loan of £2,350, 1928, autho-
rized to be raised by the Leamington Town Board under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reticulating the
Leamington Town District for a water-supply, the said Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths
(7/16ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value
(on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in
the Leamington Town District (except the lands comprising
the Leamington Town Belt, commonly known as Domain
lands), and that such special rate shall be an annually recur-
ring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 31st day of August in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty
(30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The Common Seal of the Leamington Town Board was
hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution
of the said Board in the presence of—

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of and
a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the
Leamington Town Board at the meeting above mentioned,
and that the same was gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette
on the 12th day of July, 1928, page 2214.

WILLIAM STOKES AND COMPANY, LTD.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
Canterbury District.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter
of WILLIAM STOKES AND COMPANY, LIMITED (in liqui-
dation).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the compulsory
winding-up of the above-named company (in liquida-
tion) by the Supreme Court was on the 27th day of June,
1928, presented to the Honourable Mr. Justice Adams, a
Judge of the Supreme Court, by the New Zealand Acetylene
and Hardware, Limited (in liquidation), a company duly
incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908, and lately
carrying on business at 134 Armagh Street, Christchurch,
as importers of electricians’ supplies, but now in liquidation,
a creditor of the said company. And the said petition is
directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the
25th day of July, 1928, at 10.15 o’clock a.m.; and any creditor
or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the
making of an order for the winding-up of the said company
under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing,
by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of
the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory
of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned,
on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
