PETROTITE AND CHALLENGE HEATERS, LTD.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a duly constituted meeting of members of the PETROTITE AND CHALLENGE HEATERS, LTD., held at Wellington on the 15th day of January, 1928, the following extraordinary resolution was passed :—

“That, owing to financial difficulties and the impossibility of carrying on under present conditions, the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that DUNCAN McKAY be appointed Liquidator.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 29th day of June, 1928, as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) to be known as “The Wellington City Unemployment Loan, 1928,” authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemployment, namely—

(a) The formation of Western Park, Nairnville Park, Kaiwarra Park, and Lyall Bay Reserve ;
(b) Tree-planting on Town Belt ;
(c) The widening and formation of Glenmore Street, Tinarori Road, Salamanca Road, Brooklyn Roads, Chaytor Street, the approaches to the Northland Tunnel, Point Halswell Road, and Wadestown Road ;

the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one eighty-fourth of a penny (1/84d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years from the 30th day of June, 1928, or until the loan is fully paid off.

New Zealand Statutes for Sale.

THE price of the New Zealand Statutes for 1928 has been fixed at 22s. 6d. for cloth and 27s. 6d. for half-calf. Postage, free.

To meet the demand for earlier publication of the new enactments it has been decided to issue loose Acts on a subscription basis to those who also order a bound copy of the Statutes.

The following are the rates of subscription :—

(a) One complete set of loose Acts and one annual volume bound in half-calf: Combined subscription (postage free) .. .. .. 2 17 6

(b) One complete set of loose Acts and one annual volume bound in cloth: Combined subscription (postage free) .. .. .. 2 10 0

Orders should be forwarded to the Government Printer as early as possible in order that arrangements may be made for the printing of extra supplies of Acts.

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

ROLL OF HONOUR just published by the DEFENCE DEPARTMENT, giving—

(1) A list of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, or accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces of New Zealand.
