Declaring the Roads and Streets mentioned in the Schedule hereunder to be Main Highways.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of July, 1928.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that as and from the date of this Order in Council the roads or portions of roads and the streets or portions of streets enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall become main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 1.
Parkhurst Road.
ALL that road or portion of road in the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway near Helensville Concrete Bridge, and proceeding generally in a north-westerly direction, and terminating at its junction with Springs Road on the south-western boundary of Section 1A, Block XIV, Kaipara Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 20 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71487, and thereon coloured red.
Beach Road.
All that road or portion of road in the Waitemata County, commencing at the northern boundary of the Takapuna Borough at Wairau Creek, and proceeding generally in a northerly direction via Murray’s Bay, Brown’s Bay, and Deep Creek, and terminating at Awaruku Creek, being a distance of 7 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71487, and thereon coloured red.
Henderson–Kumeu, via Swanson.
All that road or portion of road in the Henderson Town District and the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway in the Henderson Town District, and proceeding generally in a westerly and northerly direction via Swanson, Waitakere, and Taupaki, and crossing the Main North Railway at the western end of the Kumeu Railway-station, and terminating at its junction with the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway, being a distance of 11 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71487, and thereon coloured red.
Henderson Valley Road.
All that road or portion of road in the Henderson Town District and the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway in the Henderson Town District, and proceeding generally in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at a point on the western boundary of Section 7, Block I, Titirangi Survey District, being a distance of 4 miles 20 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71487, and thereon coloured red.
Kaukapakapa–Port Albert, via Glorit and Tauhoa.
All that road or portion of a road in the Waitemata and Rodney Counties, commencing at its junction with the Helensville-Waiwera Main Highway on the northern boundary of Section 12, Block XI, Kaipara Survey District, near Kaukapakapa, and proceeding generally in a northerly direction via Glorit and Tauhoa, and terminating at its junction with the Port Albert–Wellsford Main Highway at the northernmost corner of Section 169, Block XI, Otamatea Survey District, near Port Albert, being a distance of 29 miles, more or less. Shown on plans P.W.D. 71487 and 71488, and thereon coloured red.
Waikumete–West Coast.
All that road or portion of road in the Glen Eden Town District and the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Helensville Main Highway in the Glen Eden Town District, and proceeding generally in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the Nihotupu Post-office, being a distance of 8 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71487, and thereon coloured red.
Te Hana–Tomorata.
All that road or portion of road in the Rodney County, commencing at its junction with the Wayby–Maungaturoto Main Highway at a point opposite the western boundary of Section 186, Block VIII, Otamatea Survey District, and proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Waiwera–Mangawai Main Highway at a point opposite the north-eastern corner of Section 65, Block IV, Pakiri Survey District, being a distance of 4 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71488, and thereon coloured red.
Wellsford–Whangaripo.
All that road or portion of road in the Rodney County, commencing at its junction with the Wayby–Maungaturoto Main Highway at a point opposite the Wellsford Post-office, Block XVI, Otamatea Survey District, and proceeding generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with a road at the western corner of Section 7, Block X, Pakiri Survey District, being a distance of 10 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71488, and thereon coloured red.
Whakapirau–Maungaturoto Railway-station.
All that road or portion of road in the Otamatea County, commencing at the Whakapirau Wharf, and proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Maungaturoto Railway-station, Waipu Main Highway (at the Maungaturoto Railway-station), being a distance of 7 miles 20 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71489, and thereon coloured red.
Ruawai Creamery (Awaroa)–Armstrong’s Corner.
All that road or portion of road in the Otamatea County, commencing at its junction with the Dargaville–Maungaturoto Main Highway at the north-western corner of Section 47, Block XVI, Tokatoka Survey District, and proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with Armstrong’s Road at the south-eastern corner of Section 60, Block XVI, Tokatoka Survey District, being a distance of 3 miles 40 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71489, and thereon coloured red.
Tangowahine Valley Road.
All that road or portion of road in the Hobson County, commencing at the Tangowahine Wharf, and proceeding generally in a northerly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the southern corner of Section 20, Block XIII, Mangakahia Survey District, being a distance of 10 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 72333, and thereon coloured red.
Dargaville–Kaihu, via Awakino and Mamaranui.
All that road or portion of road in the Hobson County, commencing at the north-western boundary of the Dargaville Borough and proceeding generally in a northerly, south-westerly, and north-westerly direction via Awakino Settlement, Mamaranui Railway-station, and then via the Kaihu Valley Road, and terminating at a point opposite the Kaihu School at the junction of the Aranga and Opanake Roads, being a distance of 24 miles 60 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 72333, and thereon coloured red.
Also all that street or portion of street in the Dargaville Borough, commencing at the junction of Normanby Street and Hokianga Road, and proceeding generally in a north-westerly direction via the said Hokianga Road, and terminating at the north-western boundary of the Borough of Dargaville, being a distance of 1 mile 12 chains, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71163, and thereon coloured red.
Whakapara–Matheson’s Bridge.
All that road or portion of road in the Whangarei County, commencing at its junction with the Whangarei–Kawakawa Main Highway at the southern corner of Section 2, Block XII, Hukerenui Survey District, and proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction via the Whakapara–Helena Bay Road, and terminating at Matheson’s Bridge near the northern boundary of Section 7, Block VIII, Hukerenui Survey District, being a distance of 6 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71490, and thereon coloured red.
Whangarei–Whareora.
All that road or portion of road in the Whangarei County, commencing at the eastern boundary of the Borough of Whangarei, and proceeding generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at the Whareora Bridge, being a distance of 5 miles, more or less. Shown on plan P.W.D. 71490, and thereon coloured red.
