In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the ARTHUR HOPWOOD HARDWARE COMPANY, LIMITED (AND REDUCED), a private company.
Before the Honourable Mr. JUSTICE OSTLER.
NOTICE is hereby given that the order dated the 12th day of May, 1928, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £40,000 to £12,000 and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act was registered by the Registrar of Companies at Wellington on Friday, the 1st day of June, 1928.
The said minute is in the words and figures following, namely:—
“The capital of the ARTHUR HOPWOOD HARDWARE COMPANY, LIMITED (AND REDUCED), henceforth is £12,000 divided into 1,200 shares of £10 each instead of the former capital of £40,000 divided into 4,000 shares of £10 each. At the time of the registration of this minute the following shares have been issued, that is to say:—
3,990 shares to Arthur Hopwood and
10 shares to Lily Gertrude Hopwood,
upon which £3 per share has been paid.”

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of the taking under the said Act of certain land for the purposes of a road.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Gisborne Borough Council (a local authority duly constituted by law), intends under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments thereof, to take by Proclamation the following land, namely:—
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Borough of Gisborne, containing by admeasurement twenty-seven and five-tenths perches (0a. 0r. 27·5p.), more or less, being part of Block D, Whataupoko No. 6 Block, and being the whole of the land shown on the plan hereafter referred to, coloured red, which plan is also deposited in the office of the Survey Department, Gisborne, under No. 1322 (brown).
By directions of the Gisborne Borough Council a plan of the land is deposited at the Council’s Office, Read’s Quay, Gisborne, where the same may be inspected at all reasonable hours.
The work proposed to be executed upon the said land is a public road, and the description of the land is as shown on the said plan. All persons having any well-grounded objection to the execution of such work, or to the taking of such land, are hereby required to send objection in writing to the Gisborne Borough Council on or before the 17th day of July, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between THOMAS ANDERSON (THE ELDER) and THOMAS ANDERSON (THE YOUNGER), both of Little Awakino, Kurow, carrying on business as Farmers at Little Awakino, Kurow, under the style or firm of “Thos. Anderson and Son,” has been dissolved as from the 26th day of May, 1928.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following land, namely:—
All that piece of land situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing three (3) acres thirty-six and three-tenths (36·3) perches, being part of Puketapu No. 2 Block,
situated in Block IV, Piopiotea Survey District, Taumarunui County.
A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at Ngapuke, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

TAKE notice that at a meeting of the ENGLISH AND FOREIGN PIANO AGENCY, LIMITED, held at the Company’s offices, Queen Street, Auckland, at ten o’clock in the forenoon of Wednesday, the 22nd day of February, 1928, the following resolution intended to operate as a special resolution was passed:—
RESOLUTION:
“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that CHARLES ISAAC NATHAN, LOUIS MONTEFIORE NATHAN, Merchants, and SYDNEY CHARLES WILLIAM COLDICUTT, Retired Company Manager, all of Auckland, be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators of the company.”

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the members of the company will be held at 1069 Dominion Road, Auckland, on the 21st day of June, at 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner of the winding-up and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; also of determining the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

Clothing Company,” beg to announce that we have dissolved Partnership by mutual consent. The clothing business heretofore carried on by us will in future be carried on by Vincent Raymond Dingle at the present premises, 168 Queen Street, Auckland.
