Consenting under the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926,
to the Raising of a Loan by the Hokio Drainage Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the Hokio Drainage Board of the sum of one thousand pounds (£1,000) for the purpose of repaying the Board’s overdraft, subject to the following conditions :—
(1) That the term for which the loan is borrowed shall not exceed ten (10) years.
(2) That the loan shall be repaid by annual instalments of principal of an amount not less than one hundred pounds (£100).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the North Canterbury Electric-power Board of the sum of one hundred and sixty thousand three hundred pounds, of which one hundred and ten thousand four hundred and fifty pounds is for the purpose of purchasing various electrical works and the extension of electrical reticulation works, and forty-nine thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of taking over certain short-dated loans from the Kowai, Rangiora, and Eyre County Councils, subject to the following conditions :—

That the term for which the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand four hundred and fifty pounds is borrowed shall nor exceed thirty-six and a half years.

That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand four hundred and fifty pounds shall nor exceed six per centum per annum.

That the local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand four hundred and fifty pounds or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund of not less than one per centum per annum, calculated on the amount raised.

That no portion of sinking fund be paid out of the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand four hundred and fifty pounds.

That the local authority shall, in respect of the loans amounting to forty-nine thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds taken over from the Kowai, Rangiora, and Eyre Counties, maintain the existing rates of sinking funds and shall, before borrowing any sums for the repayment thereof, apply to the Local Government Loans Board for sanction to renew.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Chatton Survey District, Southland Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart as a cemetery reserve, being a purpose within Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 :
And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a plantation reserve, being a purpose within the said Class I :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the said land shall, from and after the date hereof, be appropriated for a plantation reserve under Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 9 perches, more or less, being Section 1 of 18, Block XIV, Chatton Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 82, 1220 links ; towards the east by a road, 625·6 links ; towards the south by Section 2 of 18, 612·1 links and 301·8 links ; and towards the west by Section 104, 456·7 links. And also all that area, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 35 perches, more or less, being Section 3 of 18, Block XIV, Chatton Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 2 of 18, 328·5 links and 464·5 links ; towards the east by a road, 377 links ; towards the south by Section 105, 582·7 links ; and towards the west by said Section 105, 156·9 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/115, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was acquired.
