THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that opossums may
be taken or killed within the Westland Acclimatization
District described in the Schedule hereto, except in any
sanctuary other than a scenic reserve, from the eleventh day
of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, to
the eleventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-eight, both days inclusive, subject to the general
regulations made by Order in Council dated the ninth day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.
And, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby further
order and declare that licenses to take or kill opossums within
the said district shall be issued to any person on payment
of the sum of two pounds ten shillings each; and doth hereby
appoint the Chief Postmaster at Hokitika, and the Postmaster
at Kumara, to sign and issue such licenses to take or kill
opossums.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District bounded on
the north by the middle of the Taramakau River to the
Hurunui Saddle in the Southern Alps; thence towards the
south-west by a line along the summit of the said Southern
Alps to Mount Aspiring ; thence by a right line to the mouth
of the Awarua River in Big Bay; thence north-easterly
along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Taramakau River,
the point of commencement.

Altering the Boundaries of the Tarras Irrigation District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of
May, 1928.
Present :
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by the Public Works Amendment Act,
1910, and of every other power and authority in anyway
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby alter the Tarras Irrigation Dis-
trict, as defined in the Second Schedule to the Order in Council
dated the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 62, page 2182, of the ninth day of the same month,
authorizing the Minister of Public Works to construct and
maintain water-supply works in the Tarras Irrigation District,
by substituting the Schedule hereto for the Second Schedule
to the aforesaid Order in Council.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the left bank of the Clutha River
at the north-western corner of Section 10, Block VII, Tarras
Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly
direction generally along the course of the Government
water-race through the said Section 10 and Sections 14 and
7, Block VII, Tarras Survey District ; across a county road,
and through Run 236J and Sections 19, 24, 25, 26, Run 236J,
Sections 27, 23, 5, 8, and 18, Block XII, Tarras Survey Dis-
trict; Sections 10 and 6, Block XIV, and Sections 33, 36,
and 39, Block I, Tarras Survey District ; thence in a northerly
direction generally through the said Section 39 and Sec-
tions 38, 37, 36, and 33, Block I, Tarras Survey District ;
thence still following the course of the said Government
water-race in an easterly direction generally through Sec-
tions 32, 31, 29, 28; again Sections 29 and 31; Sections 30,
23, 24, 21, 20, 19, 16, 17, 2, and 1, Block I, Tarras Survey
District, to the point of intersection of the said water-race
with the Tarras-Cromwell Road; thence in a westerly
direction generally along the northern side of the said road
to the southernmost corner of Section 27, Block I, Tarras
Survey District; thence across the said road and in a south-
westerly direction generally through the western portions of
Run 2360, Section 2, Block XV, Runs 236P and 236Q; the
eastern portion of Section 2, Block XIV, and again the
western portion of Run 236Q, Tarras Survey District, to a
point on the right bank of the Lindis River; thence in a
westerly direction generally along the right bank of the
Lindis River, being the southern boundary of Runs 236Q
and 236R, to its confluence with the Clutha River; thence
in a northerly direction generally along the left bank of the
Clutha River to the point of commencement: and including
also the two separate areas (a) portion of Run 236M and (b)
portions of Runs 236N and 236O: As the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 71982,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Amending Regulations under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement
Act, 1915.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of
May, 1928.

COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement-
ment Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend
in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations
under the said Act (hereinafter referred to as the said regula-
tions) made on the eighth day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-six, and published in the Gazette of the
eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-six.
SCHEDULE.
I. CLAUSE 31 of the said regulations is hereby amended by
omitting the words "where such transfer has been duly
consented to by the Land Board and approved by the
Minister," and substituting the following words "where such
transfer has been duly approved by the Minister on the
recommendation of the Commissioner of Crown Lands in the
case of private, town, or suburban land, or on the recommenda-
tion of the Land Board in all other cases."

Approving the Term of the License granted to the Vacuum Oil
Company, Proprietary, Limited, for a Tramway across
Cambridge Street, in the Borough of Levin.

COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by the Tramways Act, 1908, and the
Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the term of
the license granted for a period of twenty-one years from
the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
eight, by the Levin Borough Council to the Vacuum Oil
Company, Proprietary, Limited, authorizing the said company
to construct and maintain across Cambridge Street, in the
Borough of Levin, a private tramway, the position of such
tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked
P.W.D. 72008, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works, at Wellington.
