At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1928.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section forty-seven of the Customs Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Orders in Council referred to in the Schedule hereto, prescribing regulations imposing restrictions on the exportation from New Zealand of timber to the extent specified therein.

Validating Nominations for First Election Mayor and Councillors, Borough of Martinborough.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 28th day of April, 1928.
Present :
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, the area described in the Schedule to the said Proclamation was constituted a borough by the name of the Borough of Martinborough, and by the said Proclamation it was declared that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough should be held on Wednesday, the second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight :
And whereas certain persons were nominated for the respective offices of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough, and such nominations were accepted by the Returning Officer, but the respective deposits required by section nineteen of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, were not made at the time of nomination :
And whereas the prescribed deposits have now been made, and it is expedient that the said nominations should not be held invalid by reason only of the making of the said deposits subsequently to the time of nomination :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section three hundred and seventy-nine of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the said respective nominations in respect of which the prescribed deposits have now been made shall be deemed valid as if such deposits had in each case been made at the time of nomination as required by the said section nineteen, and shall not be called in question by reason only of the failure to make such deposits as the time of nomination.
