NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Returning Officer of the Lochiel Rabbit District, constituted under Part III of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908, that

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancies on Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport Fire Boards.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, I, Francis Joseph Rolleston, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Monday, the 30th April, 1928, to be the date for holding the election of one member of each of the Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the resignation of Mr. Harold George Wiley.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand in connection with Athlone Sweeps, Athlone, Ireland.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of any of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to any of the said persons (either by his or her own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to any of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Paekakariki Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Plimmerton, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.
