SECTION 21, Block XIII: Area, 171 acres 1 rood 15 perches.
Capital value, £400. Half-yearly rent, £10.

Weighted with £300, valuation for cottage, outbuildings,
and fencing; £25 payable in cash, balance may remain on
instalment mortgage to the State Advances Office for a
thirty-year term. Interest, 6 per cent.

Undulating land, suitable for mixed farming. About 60
acres still in native bush. Situated six miles from Fairfax
Railway-station by good road. Altitude, 40 ft. to 100 ft.
above sea-level.

SPECIAL CONDITION.

The lessee will be granted exemption from payment of rent
for one year from date of selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-
one of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto
for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I,
General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

William Hickey

to be an Inspector under the said Act in respect to the scenic
reserve described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

WAIOTAPU SCENIC RESERVE EXTENSION.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 86 acres 3 roods, more or less, being part
Section 5, Block VII, Paeroa Survey District (Scenic Reserve,
Gazette, 1908, page 893), and the balance of Echo or Blue
Lake not included in the above reservation; bounded towards
the north-east by Crown land, Section I, Block VII, Paeroa
Survey District, and the Waiotapu Plantation; towards the
south-east by part Section 5, Block VII, Paeroa Survey
District (permanent State forest, Reserves and other Lands
Disposal Act, 1926, section 6); again towards the south-
west by Paeroa East No. 4b No. 1b Block; and towards the
north-west by Rotomahana-Parekarangi 3a 1b Block; save
and excepting three intersecting public roads. As the same
is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
331A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Auckland
plans S.O. 23352 and 7277 (red).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 13th day of April, 1928.

Constituting and establishing the Samoa Military Police as a
Unit of the New Zealand Permanent Forces.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its
amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
make the following regulations under that Act; and I do
hereby declare that such regulations shall come into force
as from the tenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-eight.

SCHEDULE.

  1. THE Samoa Military Police is hereby constituted and
    established as a unit of the New Zealand Permanent Forces.

  2. Enlistment in the Samoa Military Police will be for a
    period of twelve months, if so long required.

  3. Free rations, quarters, and clothing for all members of
    the unit will be provided, and the rates of pay will be as
    follows:—
