2. The number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed six cock Pheasants, six Australian quail, six grey ducks, and nineteen black swan.

3. Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game or native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

4. No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any of such imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pen-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-g”, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other than a shoulder-gun ; and no gun shall be used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any g” be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight.

5. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset.

6. No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of 100 yards square.

7. No person shall use any power-boat or launch in connection with the taking or killing of imported or native game.

8. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District commencing at the mouth of the Mokau River and proceeding thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino No. 16 Block; thence proceeding generally southerly along the said eastern boundary through Trig. Station Tawhitiraupaka to and down the Mohakatino Stream to its confluence with a stream intersecting the Mohakatino-Parininihi No. In East, the said confluence being near the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block III, Waro Survey District: thence up the latter stream to the Mohakatino Road; thence southerly along the western side of the Mohakatino Road to the southern boundary Mohakatino - Parininihi No. In East; thence westerly along the said southern boundary to the westernmost corner of Section 6, Block VI, Waro Survey District; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of Sections 6, 6, 4, and 3, and the southern boundaries of the said Section 3 and Section 1, Block VII, Waro Survey District, to the Kotare Road; thence along that road to the Waita-anga Stream and down that stream to the northern block line of Block XVI, Waro Survey District; thence westerly slang the northern block-line of Blocks XVI and XV to Mount Damper Road, and along that road to the easternmost corner of Section 3, Block XIV, Waro Survey District; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 5, Block XIV aforesaid, and Sections 10 and 9, Block XIII, along the western boundaries of Sections 9 and 2, Block XIII, Waro Survey District, and Section 4, Block I, Pouatu Survey District, to its south-western corner; thence across a ma” and railway reserve to the northernmost corner of Section 8, Block I, Pouatu Survey District; thence along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of that section to its southernmost corner; thence along a right line to the boundary between Sections 7 and 4, Block V, Pouatu Survey District; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries generally of Sections 7, 6, and 6, Block V, and Sections 4 and 4, Block VIII, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the Rerekino Road, and along the eastern side of that road and of the Waitara Valley Road to the western boundary of Section 2, Block XVI; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block XVI, and of Section 9, Block XV, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the Tirangi Road; thence along the northern side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 11, Block XV aforesaid; thence to end along the said western boundary and the southern boundary of the said Section 11, to the confiscation-line; thence south-westerly along that line to Te Wera Road; along that road to the north-eastern corner of Section 43, Block VI, Ngatimaru Survey District,, and along the northern and western boundaries of said Section 43 to Mohakau Road; thence along that road to Section 17, Block X, Ngatimaru Survey District, and along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 17, and of Sections 15, 14, and 10, Block V, Kg&.-timaru Survey District, to the Waitara River; thence to and along the middle of that river to a point opposite the easternmost corner of Section 18, Block V aforesaid; thence to and along the north-eastern boundaries of the said Section 18 and the northern and western boundaries of Sections 13 and 9, Block VIII, Huiroa Survey District, to the Waitara River; thence down the Waitara River to its confluence with the Makino Stream; thence up the Makino Stream to 8 point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block VII, Huiroa Survey District; thence westerly to and along the southern boundaries of Sections 18 and 11, Block VII aforesaid, to the Mako Stream; thence up the Mako Stream to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Section 56, Block VI, Huiroa Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 56 and 57, Block VI aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner Section 57 aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 67, 42, and 35, to Mangaotea Road; of across that road and along the southern boundaries of Sections 28 and 25, Block VI, Huiroa Survey District, the southern boundaries of Sections 2 and the Native Reserve to the Manganui Stream; thence down the Manganui Stream to its confluence with the Waipuku Stream; thence “p the Waipuku Stream to its intersection with Derby Road; thence north-westerly along the western boundary of Section 213, Block XVI, Egmont Survey District, to Surrey Road; thence south-westerly along Surrey Road to the Egmont National Park boundary; thence by a right line to the summit of Mount Egmont; thence from the summit of Mount Egmont to the source of the Taungatara Stream and down the Taungatara Stream to its mouth; thence generally northerly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Mokau River, the place of commencement.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Tauranga Acclimatization District.

In exercise of the powers rested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Maui Pomare, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of May to the 31st day of July, 1928 (both days inclusive), to be in open season in the Tauranga Acclimatization District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., cook pheasants, Californian quad, and Australian quail; and the period from the 1st day of May to the 30th day of June, 1928, for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., grey duck and black swan; and the period from the 1st day of May to the 31st day of May, 1928, to be an open season in that part of the said district comprising (1) the strip of land between the Wairoa River on the west, and the Tauranga—Ake Ake—Rotorua Road on the east, stretching from the coast on the north eight miles inland, and (2) the swamp land between Te Puke Town District boundary on the east and the coast of Welcome Bay on the west, stretching from the coast on the north to the foot of the hills on the south, for the taking or killing of the following native game in the said district—viz., pukeko; and the period from the 1st day of January to the 31st day of March, 1929 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits; subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

1. Licenses to take or kill such imported game and native game, including godwits, within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each: and the Postmasters at Tauranga, Katikati, Paengaroa, and Te Puke hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of grey duck and black swan.

3. Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game, including godwits (or the following native game only—viz., godwits), shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native game, including godwits (or godwits only), on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

4.
