Declaring the Streets or Portions of Streets mentioned in the Schedule hereunder to be Main Highways.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of February, 1928.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that on and after the date of gazetting of this Order in Council the streets or portions of streets enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall become and form part of the main highways named in each case respectively, within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 1.
Auckland—Wainui Main Highway via Birkenhead.
All those streets or portions of street in the Borough of Birkenhead—commencing at the Birkenhead Wharf, and proceeding generally in a northerly and north-westerly direction along Hinemoa Street, Hauraki Street, and Glenfield Road, and terminating at the junction of Glenfield Road and Pupuke Road at the northern boundary of the Borough of Birkenhead, being a distance of 1 mile 60 chains, more or less: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 71287, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Whangarei—Dargaville Main Highway.
All those streets or portions of street in the Borough of Dargaville—commencing where the Main Road of Dargaville joins the Whangarei—Dargaville Main Highway at the northern boundary of the said Borough of Dargaville at the Awakino River No. 2D Block 13, Maungaru Survey District, and proceeding generally in a south-westerly and southerly direction via Jervois Street and Normanby Street; thence over the Kaihu River Bridge and along Mangawhare Road, and terminating where it joins the Dargaville—Te Kopuru Main Highway on the southern boundary of the Borough of Dargaville, adjoining Aoroa No. 1, Block XV, Kaihu Survey District, being a distance of 2 miles 70 chains, more or less: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 71163, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
Dargaville—Maungaturoto Main Highway.
All those streets or portions of street in the Borough of Dargaville—commencing at the junction of Grey Street with Jervois Street, and proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction along the said Grey Street to the northern end of the Wairoa River Bridge where it joins the Dargaville—Maungaturoto Main Highway, being a distance of 20 chains, more or less: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 71163, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured yellow.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 2.
Great South Road Main Highway.
All those streets or portions of street in the Borough of Otahuhu—commencing at a point on the Great South Road at its intersection with Portage Road on the northern boundary of the Borough of Otahuhu, and proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction on to and along the Great South Road, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Borough of Otahuhu at the bridge over the Tamaki River, and being a distance of 1 mile 47 chains, more or less: as the same is more
