Control of Napier Technical School.

Office of the Minister of Education,
Wellington, 8th December, 1926.

IN accordance with section 12 of the Education Amendment Act, 1924, I, Robert Alexander Wright, Minister of Education, do hereby direct that, on the 1st day of January, 1927, the Hawke’s Bay Education Board shall cease to exercise control over the Napier Technical School, and that on such date the sole control of the school shall be vested in the Board of Managers of that school; and I further direct that there shall be included in the property, rights, and liabilities consequently vested in such Board of Managers:—

(1.) All those pieces of land described in the First Schedule hereto, together with the buildings and other improvements erected thereon and the furniture and equipment of such buildings.

(2.) All the property, rights, and liabilities of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board in the leasehold properties described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

FREEHOLD PROPERTIES.

ALL that piece of land, situate in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing 39 perches, being part of Town Section numbered 357, as shown on the Government map of the Town of Napier, and being also the Lots 1, 2, and 3, as shown on the plan showing the subdivision into allotments of part of the said section, deposited in the Deeds Registry Office at Napier, bounded as follows: On the north-east by Munroe Street, 150 links; on the south by Station Street, 100 links and 61·5 links; on the south by Station Street, Town Section 357, 150 links; and on the north-west by Town Section 355, 62·5 links, and Town Section 356, 100 links. Together with all the rights, easements, and appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

LEASEHOLD PROPERTIES.

THAT piece of land, situate in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10·2 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the Whare-o-Maraenui Block, known as Napier South, and comprising the Lot numbered 664; and that piece of land, situate in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing 3 roods 9·3 perches, more or less, being part of the same block, comprising Lots 665, 666, and 667; and that piece of land containing 1 rood 36·8 perches, more or less, being part of the same block, comprising lot numbered 669; and that piece of land, containing 1 rood 29·8 perches, more or less, being part of the same block, comprising Lot numbered 670; and that piece of land, containing 1 rood 22·8 perches, more or less, being part of the same block, comprising Lot numbered 671; and that piece of land, containing 1 rood 15·9 perches, more or less, being part of the Whare-o-Maraenui Block, known as Napier South, and part Town Section 628, Napier, comprising Lot numbered 672. All the above-described sections in this Schedule being held by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board under lease from the Napier Harbour Board, and being more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Napier as Number 2311, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 52, folio 223.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in the Wellington Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

TENURE: L.S.R.L. Lease No. 280. Section 41, Block IX, Mangaone Survey District. Formerly held by J. Woulfe. Reason of forfeiture: Non-compliance with conditions of ease.

Land in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

Dunedin, 9th February, 1927.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or on deferred payments at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, at 10.30 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 16th March, 1927, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.

Lake County.—Town of Queenstown.

SECTIONS 1, 2, 18, and 19, Block 38: Area, 1 acre 0 roods 14 perches. Upset price, £760.

This land occupies one of the very best sites in Queenstown, being alongside the Gardens and adjacent to the main road. It is in the best residential portion, well drained, with good aspect. An ideal site for an up-to-date hotel.

Special Condition.—The contract for sale does not include any fencing or other improvements on the property.

CONDITIONS OF SALE.

The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments. The terms are:—

  1. Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.

  2. Deferred Payments.—Five per cent. of the purchase-money, together with £1 1s. license fee, to be paid on the fall of the hammer.

The balance of the purchase-money, with interest thereon at the rate of 5½ per cent. per annum, to be paid by instalments extending over a period of 34½ years.

The licensee shall have the right at any time during the currency of his license to pay off either the whole of the purchase-money or any half-yearly instalment or instalments thereof then remaining unpaid.

Upon receipt of the final instalment a certificate of title in respect of the land purchased shall issue upon payment of the prescribed Crown grant fee.

If the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale be null and void.

Titles will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 15th February, 1927.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 28th March, 1927.

The land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 29th March, 1927, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.; but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Piako County.—Wairere Survey District.

SECTION 63, Block XIII: Area, 14 acres 1 rood 34 perches. Capital value, £360. Deferred payments: Deposit, £18; half-yearly instalment, £11 2s. 4d. Half-yearly rent on lease, £8 2s.

Situated about one mile and a quarter from Waharoa Township and railway-station, school, store, and post-office, by good metalled road. The land is all flat of poor quality, and has at some time been under cultivation. At present it is mostly covered with fern, and has rough feed through it. Noxious weeds in evidence. The section is fenced by boundary fences, excepting on road frontage. There is no water on the section,
