ENDORSEMENT.
District to which License relates.
Whakatane Red-deer Herd Area.

All that area within the County of Whakatane commencing at a point on the sea-coast at the boundary between the Whakatane and Opotiki Counties; thence by that boundary-line to its intersection with the Waimana River near Kai-rakau Trig. Station; thence in a westerly direction by a right line from that trig. station to the point of intersection with the Tarawera River, on the boundary of Rotorua County; thence by the Tarawera River to the sea-coast; thence easterly by the coast-line to the corner of the Opotiki County boundary, being the point of commencement.

As witness my hand, at Wellington, this 16th day of February, 1927.

Special Order passed by the Mount Hutt Road Board declaring Toad Flax to be a Noxious Weed.—Notice No. Ag. 2640.

THE following special order, passed by the Mount Hutt Road Board at a special meeting held on 6th September, 1926, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board on 4th October, 1926, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, the Mount Hutt Road Board hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that toad flax (linaria vulgaris) is a noxious weed within the Mount Hutt Road district.


Notice as to an Area in Canterbury Land District declared to be a Fire District.

Wellington, 24th January, 1927.

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared by me to be fire districts, and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said districts, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations, or any land-clearing operations, or grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.


SCHEDULE.

BALMORAL PLANTATION FIRE DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 36,000 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, and XIV, Mandamus Survey District, and Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Culverden Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing on the left bank of the Mandamus River at the north-west corner of Section 70, Sq. 103, Block IX, Mandamus Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally by the north-west and north-east boundaries of Section 70 aforesaid and the north-west boundaries of Section 39, Block IX aforesaid, Sections 38 and 37, and by the north-east boundary of the last-mentioned section, all of Block X, Mandamus Survey District; thence by the north-west boundaries of Sections 24, 25, 26, and 27, Block X aforesaid, and by the north-east boundary of the last-mentioned section to the north-west corner of Section 141, Block XI, Mandamus Survey District; thence by the northern boundaries generally of Sections 141, 124, 143, 131, 52, 51, and 50, Block XI aforesaid, to the Balmoral-Hurunui Road; thence in a southerly direction generally by that road to the north-west corner of Section 253, Block XII, Mandamus Survey District; thence by the north boundaries of Sections 253 and 254 and the north and east boundaries of Section 261, Block XII aforesaid, and Sections 272 and 283 and the south and east boundaries of Section 289, all of Block IX, Culverden Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction generally by the south-west boundary of an Education Reserve, Blocks X and XIV, Culverden Survey District, and its production to the right bank of the Hurunui River; thence in a westerly direction generally by that river to a point opposite the right bank of the Mandamus River; thence across the Hurunui River and by the right bank of the Mandamus River to a point opposite the north-west corner of Section 70, Block IX, Mandamus Survey District; thence across the river to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan 128/4, deposited in the Head Office, State Forest Service, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
