  1. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  2. Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of deer-heads contained in section 6 of the regulations under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page 437, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Postmistress at Waikaremoana immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

  3. Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

  4. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Rotorua Acclimatization District, comprised in the Wairoa County (excluding the Mahia Peninsula and the sanctuary area at Lake Waikaremoana), which extends from the mouth of the Waiharuru Stream near Te Puna and thence by the shore of the lake to the mouth of the Aniwaniwa Stream.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £3, is hereby authorized to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds within that part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District, as described in the endorsement hereon, from the 25th day of March, 1927, to the 25th day of April, 1927 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force within the said district.

This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively held by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

ENDORSEMENT.

District to which License relates.

All that area in the Rotorua Acclimatization District, comprised in the Wairoa County (excluding the Mahia Peninsula and the sanctuary area at Lake Waikaremoana), which extends from the mouth of the Waiharuru Stream near Te Puna and thence by the shore of the lake to the mouth of the Aniwaniwa Stream.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Rotorua Acclimatization District (Rotoiti-Okareka Red-deer Herd Area), Rotorua County.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 25th day of March, 1927, to the 25th day of April, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Rotorua Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.


CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be issued by the District Manager, Department of Tourist and Health Resorts at Rotorua, on payment of a license fee of £3, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  2. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  3. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  4.   6. Nothing in this warrant shall apply to deer within the areas described in the warrant dated 15th February, 1926, in which areas protection is removed from deer.

  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.
