HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Waterworks Extension Loan, 1927, £10,100.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £10,100, authorized to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, and under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and its amendments, to be expended for the following purposes :

Waterworks Extension.
Including reservoir and purchase of land therefor ;
the purchase of machinery in connection therewith; £
and sinking additional artesian wells .. .. 9,925
Cost of raising the loan and contingencies .. .. 175
£10,100

The said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/100d. in the pound, on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property in the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, WILLIAM JOHN FLETCHER, heretofore called and known by the name of WILLIAM FLETCHER, of Auck-land, Contractor, do hereby give public notice that on the 6th day of December, 1927, I formally and absolutely re-nounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said christian name of “ William.” and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “ William John,” instead of the said name of “ William.” And I give further notice that by deed poll dated the 6th day of December, 1927, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court Office at Auckland on the 14th day of December, 1927, under No. 413, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said christian name of “ William,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and sub-scribe the name of “ William John Fletcher,” instead of the name of “William Fletcher,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of WILLIAM JOHN FLETCHER exclusively.
