Open Season for Fallow-deer Shooting, Lakes District
Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 24th day of March, 1927, to the 21st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Lakes District Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game-viz., fallow-deer bucks and does-within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
1 LICENSES to take or kill fallow-deer bucks and does may be issued by the Postmaster at Queenstown, on the recommendation of the secretary of the Lakes District Acclimatization District, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification. Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Nothing in any license to take or kill fallow-deer bucks and does shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill fallow-deer bucks or does on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

The licensee must give notice to the said Postmaster of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area known as Greenstone and Caples Valleys and the country from Bobs Cove to Lake Dispute, thence to Ben Lomond and One-mile Creek.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £2, is hereby authorized to take or kill fallow-deer bucks and does within that part of the Lakes District Acclimatization District known as the Greenstone and Caples Valleys and the country from Bobs Cove to Lake Dispute, thence to Ben Lomond and One-mile Creek, from the 24th day of March, 1927, to the 21st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting fallow-deer bucks and does made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill fallow-deer bucks or does on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

Open Season for Virginian-deer Shooting, Lakes District Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 24th day of March, 1927, to the 21st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Lakes District Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game-viz., Virginian-deer bucks-within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill Virginian-deer bucks may be issued by the Postmaster at Queenstown, on the recommendation of the secretary of the Lakes District Acclimatization District, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than two Virginian-deer bucks. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

No doe or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of deer-heads contained in section 6 of the regulations under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Secretary of the Lakes District Acclimatization Society, Queenstown, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Nothing in any license to take or kill Virginian-deer bucks shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill Virginian-deer bucks on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

, of , having this day paid the sum of £2, is hereby authorized to take or kill two Virginian-deer bucks within that part of the Lakes District Acclimatization District known as Rees Valley, Upper Wakatipu, from the 24th day of March, 1927, to the 21st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting Virginian-deer bucks made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill Virginian-deer bucks on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of April to the 1st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Tauranga Acclimatization District, described in the First Schedule hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported game-viz., red-deer stags and hinds-subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
- LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be issued by the Postmaster at Tauranga, on payment of a license fee of £2 2s., in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule
