Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of deer-heads contained in section 6 of the regulations under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page 437, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Secretary of the Auckland Acclimatization Society, Auckland, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area in the County of Taumarunui bounded, commencing at the intersections near Waimiha of the Ongarue River and the Waimiha River, towards the north by the Ongarue River to its source; thence towards the south along a mountain range passing through Weraroa, Tuhingamata, Moutere, and Hauhangaroa Trig. Stations to Maungaku Trig. Station; thence southerly along the western boundary of the Waione Block to the Wanganui River; thence in a general north-westerly direction down the middle of that river to its junction with the boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui; thence along the northern boundary of such borough to the junction of such boundary north of Taumarunui with the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence towards the west by the North Island Main Trunk Railway to Waimiha; thence to and along the Ongarue River to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).
, of , having this day paid the sum of £3, is hereby authorized to take or kill three red-deer stags of not less than ten points, within the Auckland Acclimatization District, from the 14th day of March, 1927, to the 10th day of April, 1927 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and all regulations and notifications affecting red-deer stags made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Ashburton (Alford Forest) Acclimatization District.
I N exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of April, 1927, to the 10th day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Ashburton Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be issued by the Postmaster at Ashburton, upon the recommendation of the secretary of the Ashburton Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £5, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification. The number of such licenses to be issued by the said Postmaster shall not exceed fifteen: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person; and also that if the number of applications received for licenses exceeds the number of available licenses, then the persons to whom such licenses are to be issued shall be decided by ballot.

No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.
