IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and five of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the areas of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and shall hereafter form part of the Carrington Settlement.

SECTIONS 10 and 11, Tiffin Survey District, containing 248 acres, more or less.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
SECTION 269. Area, 33 acres; capital value, £165; half-yearly rent, £3 6s.
Weighted with £24 10s., valuation for improvements, consisting of one-roomed iron shack, 16 ft. by 10 ft., not lined, and with no ceiling, and a little boundary fencing in poor state of repair.
Situated on the Albany-Coatesville Road, about half a mile from Coatesville Post-office and school. About two acres flat land, balance undulating. All ploughable. Soil is poor clay on clay formation. Section watered by creek on one side of road, but no water on other side. Land lies towards the sun and is well sheltered from the cold winds.
Waitemata County.—Waipareira Parish.
Section 278. Area, 10 acres 3 roods 33 perches; capital value, £165; half-yearly rent, £3 6s.
Situated on the divide between Swanson and Henderson Valley. Access is from Ranui Railway-station one mile and a quarter distant, or from Swanson two miles and a half distant. Undulating land, all ploughable, in hakea and fern. Soil is clay on sandstone formation. Watered by spring. Altitude, 350 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Section has a splendid site for a house, and possesses a magnificent view of Auckland City and Harbour.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Whangarei County.—Opua-whanga Survey District.
Section 23, Block XIII. Area, 281 acres 2 roods; capital value, £285; half-yearly rent, £5 14s.
Situated at Kiripaka, on the Whangarei-Ngunguru Main Road. Access is from Whangarei, seventeen miles distant by cart-road, metalled for eight miles. The nearest school and store is at Ngunguru, two miles and a half distant. Soil is clay resting on blue-rock formation; well watered by streams. About 10 acres flat, balance rough broken country, covered for the most part with heavy green bush, with a few small patches of fern. Bush consists of tararie, totara, rimu, kahikatea, puriri, and karaka. A few blackberries are on one end of section. No improvements. Altitude, 50 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level.
Whangarei County.—Mangakahia Survey District.
Section 1, Block VI. Area, 948 acres 2 roods; capital value, £1,425; half-yearly rent, £28 10s.
Section 2, Block VI. Area, 827 acres; capital value, £1,090; half-yearly rent, £21 16s.
Sections are situated near Parokao, on the opposite side of the Mangakahia River. Access is from Whangarei, twenty-four miles distant, partly by good metalled road and partly by newly formed road. Mangakahia River has to be forded. Soil is good alluvial on flat, good brown semi-volcanic in bush areas, balance poor clay gum land. The flats are badly infested with blackberry. Bush is light, comprising nikau, tarairi, puriri, &c.; practically no fencing material.
Section 1 comprises about 112 acres rich flat, 30 acres good flat up creeks, 8 acres flat, medium quality, in tea-tree, 60 acres undulating in fern and tea-tree, 150 acres semi-volcanic broken country covered with bush, balance broken gum land in fern. No fencing.
Section 2 comprises about 150 acres alluvial flats, about 40 acres broken country covered with mixed bush, about 50 acres undulating fern and tea-tree scrub. There are about 32 chains of fencing, very fair order. Also 65 chains of boundary has been fenced.
Hobson County.—Tutamoe Survey District.
Section 26, Block XIII. Area, 138 acres 2 roods 1 perch; capital value, £140; half-yearly rent, £2 16s.
Situated two miles from Kaihu Post-office, school, and township, the access road being metalled. All easy undulating country, covered with tea-tree scrub and fern. Soil light semi-volcanic, fairly poor, resting on sandstone formation. Fairly watered by stream. No fencing-timber on section, which is suitable for a winter paddock for any one owning swamp land. Altitude 600 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the town land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Manawatu County.—Sandy Survey District.—Town of Tangimoana.
SECTION 64. Area, 1 rood. Capital value, £50; half-yearly rent, £1 5s.
Weighted with £4, valuation for fencing, payable in cash. Weighted also with £25, valuation for a two-roomed whare, also payable in cash.
This is a level grassed section, and is one of the best in Tangimoana, having a frontage to Kuku Street, which is formed and metalled. There is a two-roomed lean-to whare on the section, but this may possibly be removed before the ballot takes place, in which case the weighting for same, £25, will not be required.
