from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts

THE SCANDINAVIAN WATER-RACE CO., LTD.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company, duly convened and held in Dunedin on the
8th day of November, 1927, the following extraordinary
resolution was passed :—

“ That it is proved to its satisfaction that the company
cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business ;
and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that it be
wound up accordingly.”

And at such last-mentioned meeting WILLIAM ISAAC
BOLAM, of Christchurch, retired, and ROBERT GILKISON, of
Dunedin, Solicitor, and GEORGE MILNE MACLEAN, of Dunedin,
Accountant, were appointed liquidators for the purposes of
the winding-up.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between ALBERT VICTOR CALDER, Motor
Engineer, and JOHN ALBERT SYMONDS, Butcher, both of the
City of Wellington, carrying on business as Motor Engineers
at Seatoun Road, Kilbirnie, in the said city, under the style
or firm-name of “Calder and Co.,” had been dissolved by
mutual consent as from the 18th day of October, 1927.

The said Albert Victor Calder will continue to carry on the
said business on his own behalf.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested
in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000), autho-
rized to be raised by the Auckland City Council by way of
special loan under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose
of extensions to the Municipal Abattoir, and the purchase of
land for stock-holding paddocks, the said Auckland City
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-
sixteenths (5/16ths) of one penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auck-
land, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly
on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Workers’ Dwellings Loan of £25,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Christ-
church City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Christchurch
City Workers’ Dwellings Loan of £25,000, 1927, authorized
to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings
and the construction of works necessary and incidental
thereto, or to advance money to a worker to enable him to
erect a worker’s dwelling on any land of which he is the owner,

or to acquire land to erect a worker’s dwelling thereon, the
said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of two hundred and sixty-one five-thousandths
(261/5,000ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rate-
able value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable
property comprised within the City of Christchurch, and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st
day of December in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.

WOODVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wood-
ville Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £4,244 18s., known as the Wood-
ville Borough Gasworks Renewal Loan, 1927, authorized to
be raised by the Woodville Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the unpaid
balance of a loan of £7,000, known as the Woodville Borough
Gasworks Loan, 1906, the said Woodville Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of two pence and one-
ninth of a penny (2 1/9d.) in the pound sterling upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property of the Borough of Woodville, comprising
the whole of the Borough of Woodville ; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
