part thereof upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over such period of years, whether in excess of the period mentioned in the poll taken on the proposal for such loan or not, and payable at such times as may be fixed by such local authority, and may permanently appropriate and pledge for the purpose of securing such instalments any special rate already made or hereafter to be made or any part of such special rate:
And whereas the Central Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board has been authorized to borrow the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds for electric works, and is now desirous of raising the sum of ten thousand pounds, being a further portion of the said loan of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds:
And whereas application has been made by the aforesaid Electric-power Board for the consent of His Excellency the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said ten thousand pounds on the instalment system extending over a period of thirty-six and a half years:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Central Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board raising the sum of ten thousand pounds upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over a period of thirty-six and a half years, and the said Central Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of ten thousand pounds accordingly.

Extending Time for Closing a Poll, Waitemata Electric-power District.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the hour at which a poll to be held and taken in the Waitemata Electric-power District on the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, shall close, to seven o’clock in the afternoon of the day appointed.

License authorizing the South Taranaki Electric-power Board to use Electric Lines within the South Taranaki Electric-power District, and Outer Area.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth—subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, and to the regulations made under section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and dated the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twelfth day of the same month, or any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor (and hereinafter collectively referred to as “the regulations”), and which regulations shall be deemed to be incorporated herein—hereby authorize the South Taranaki Electric-power Board, duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918 (hereinafter with its successors and assigns referred to as “the licensee”), to use electric lines for power, lighting, heating, or other uses within the South Taranaki Electric-power District and Outer Area, as defined by Procla-
mation dated the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 27, of the thirtieth day of the same month and subsequently amended by Proclamation dated the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 83 of the twenty-third day of the same month, such electric lines at present proposed to be used being indicated on the plans marked P.W.D. 69740 and 69741, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

SCHEDULE.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
THE system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a) and (e) of clause 5 of the regulations.
Electrical energy shall be received in bulk and may be supplemented by supply from any existing power plant operating within the licensee’s district or outer area of such district.
The primary distribution voltage shall be 11,000 or 6,600 volts between phases. The secondary distribution voltage shall be approximately 400 volts between phases and 230 volts between any phase and neutral.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
This license shall, unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, continue in force for a period of forty-two years from the date hereof. Upon the expiry of the said term, or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license.
- CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.
The charges for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes, and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes; provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor generators for lighting purposes; and provided further that if accounts are paid within fourteen days of due date the charges shall not exceed 10d. per unit for lighting purposes and 4½d. per unit for motor-power, cooking, and heating purposes.
In the case of wholesale supply the charge shall not exceed £16 per kilovolt-ampere per year plus ½d. per unit. “Wholesale supply,” for this purpose shall be held to be a supply in respect of which the consumer shall guarantee to pay not less than £180 per year.
A minimum charge of 7s. 6d. per month, including meter rent (if any), may be collected if required by the licensee, and shall be printed on the licensee’s conditions of supply.
- ROUTES RESERVED FOR GOVERNMENT LINES.
The licensee shall not, without the consent in writing of the Minister of Public Works, erect any electric lines along the routes of the Government main trunk transmission-lines.
- CONVERSION OF LINES FROM EARTH-WORKING TO METALLIC.
Notwithstanding anything herein contained, the licensee shall bear the cost of converting the Railway or Post and Telegraph Department’s lines which are now erected from earth-working to metallic, if such conversion is required by the Minister of Railways or the Minister of Telegraphs owing to electrical interference arising from the licensee’s lines.
- TELEGRAPH-LINES.
The licensee shall rectify to the satisfaction of the Minister of Railways or the Minister of Telegraphs any interference or disturbance caused by the erection or operation of the licensee’s system that affects the satisfactory working of the telegraph-lines which are the property of the Railway Department or the Telegraph Department and which were erected prior to the licensee’s lines: Provided that where the minimum separation is unobtainable the licensee shall bear the cost of any special protection deemed necessary by the Minister of Telegraphs.
- ROUTE OF TRANSMISSION-LINE.
The route of the transmission-line between Patea Borough and the boundary of the Opunake Electric-power District shall be subject to the approval of the Minister of Telegraphs.
- DATUM TEMPERATURE.
For the purposes of this license the datum temperature may be taken as 30° Fahrenheit.
