Special Order made by the Castlepoint County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

THE following special order, made by the Castlepoint County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 1st day of January, 1928, as the date from which such special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER ALTERING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST AND WEST RIDINGS OF THE CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act, 1920, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers whatsoever it in that behalf enabling, and with the approval of the Chief Surveyor of the District as provided by the said Act, and subject to the consent of the Governor-General in Council, the Castlepoint County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

That the present boundary of the East Riding be altered by the deletion of certain sections or lots from the said riding; and that the present boundary of the West Riding be altered by the inclusion in the West Riding of certain sections or lots deleted from the East Riding, as hereinafter defined.

The boundaries of the said ridings of the Castlepoint County shall hereafter be as follows:—

East Riding.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, Castlepoint County, commencing at the sea at the south corner of Section 724, Block VIII, Castlepoint Survey District, and proceeding in a north-westerly direction by the southern boundaries of said Section 724, and Sections 723, 722, Block VIII, by the southern boundary of Sections 721, 720, Block V, 719, 718, Block IV, Castlepoint Survey District, to the centre of the Tinui River; thence northerly by the centre of the said river to a point cut by the production of the south-eastern boundary of Section 234, Block I, Castlepoint Survey District; thence westerly by part of the southern boundary, by part of the eastern boundary, and again by part of the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section; by the southern boundary of Section 230, Block I, Castlepoint Survey District, to its intersection with Lot 6, D.P. 4764; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of Lots 6, 7, and 1, the eastern boundary of Lots 2, 4, and 3, D.P. 4764, and south-eastern boundary of part Lot 4, D.P. 4764, to the intersection of the said Lot 4 with the eastern boundary of Section 139, Block VIII, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction along the eastern boundary of Sections 139, 140, Block VIII; by the eastern and southern boundary of Section 141, Block XII, all in the Mangapakeha Survey District, to the centre of the Whareama River; thence southerly by the centre of the said river to the north-eastern boundary of Section 345, Block XVI, by the last-mentioned boundary, and by the north-eastern boundary of Sections 344, 348, by part of the western boundary of Section 349, by the west and north boundary of Section 350, all in Block XVI, Mangapakeha Survey District; by the north-eastern and eastern boundary of Sections 351, 352, Block IX, Castlepoint Survey District; thence southerly by the eastern boundary of Sections 755, 754, 808, 804, Block IV, Rewa Survey District; by part of the northern boundary of Section 752, by the northern boundary of Section 326, Block VIII, Rewa Survey District, by the northern boundary of Section 319, Block XI, Castlepoint Survey District, to the sea; thence northerly by the sea to the point of commencement.

West Riding.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, Castlepoint County, commencing at the centre of the Tinui River at the north-east corner of Section 238, Block IV, Castlepoint Survey District, and proceeding northerly by the centre of the said river to the point of intersection of the western boundary of Section 471, Block I, by part of the north-west boundary of the last-mentioned section to a public road, by that road, and again by part of the north-west boundary of Section 471, by the north-west boundary of Section 472, by the western boundary of Section 473, all in Block I, Castlepoint Survey District; by the western boundary of Sections 474, 475, 476, 477, Block XIII, Aohanga Survey District, to the boundary of the Akitio County; thence northerly and westerly by the said boundary to the boundary of the Ekatahuna County at the south-west corner of Section 19, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District; thence westerly by the said boundary of the Ekatahuna County to the boundary of the Masterton County at the north-east boundary of Section 824, Block III, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence southerly by the eastern boundary of the Masterton County to the north-west boundary of Section 403, Block XI, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence northerly by part of the north-west boundary of the last-mentioned section, by the north-east boundary of the said section, by part of the north-west boundary of Section 406, by the north and east boundary of Section 405, and part of the south boundary of the last-mentioned section, by the eastern boundary of Section 284, all in Block XI, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence southerly by part of the eastern boundary of Section 283, by the north and east boundary of Section 282, Block XI, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence easterly by part of the north boundary of Section 265, Block XV, Mangapakeha Survey District, by part of the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to a public road, by the said road, and again by the other part of the eastern boundary of said Section 265, by the northern boundary of Section 248, Block XVI, Mangapakeha Survey District, to the crossing of the Masterton–Waimata Road; by that road, and again by the other part of the northern boundary of said Section 248, to the centre of the Whareama River at the western boundary of the East Riding; thence northerly by the centre of the said river and the boundary of the East Riding to the point of commencement.

I hereby certify that the above descriptions are sufficient to identify the boundaries.

The above special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the Castlepoint County Council held on the 20th day of August, 1927, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 24th day of September, 1927.

The Common Seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Castlepoint County was hereto affixed, this 24th day of September, 1927, in the presence of—

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Upper Hutt, the County of Hutt, and the Horokiwi, Mungaroa, and Heretaunga Ridings of the County of Hutt.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 15th October, 1927.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Upper Hutt are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the said borough being a new borough constituted by Proclamation dated the 27th day of January, 1926, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 5, of the 28th day of January, 1926.

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the County of Hutt affected by the constitution of the Borough of Upper Hutt, made by the said Proclamation dated the 27th day of January, 1926, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Horokiwi, Mungaroa, and Heretaunga Ridings of the County of Hutt affected by the constitution of the Borough of Upper Hutt, made by the said Proclamation, dated the 27th day of January, 1926, are hereby defined as set out under their respective headings in the Third Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF UPPER HUTT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 121, Hutt District; thence along the eastern boundary of that section to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 121; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that section to the eastern boundary of Section 217, Hutt District; thence southerly along that boundary to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 217; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 217, 128, 127, 126, and 125, Hutt District, to the public road forming the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence across that road and north-westerly along its south-western side to
