provides for the apportionment of the cost of construction of
any bridge forming part of a main highway, shall apply with
respect to the apportionment of the cost of construction of
any bridge forming part of a main highway in so far as such
cost is not provided for out of the Main Highways Account :
And whereas on the 20th January, 1927, the Board resolved
as follows :—
“ That, in accordance with the Main Highways Amendment
Act, 1925, the Honourable Minister of Public Works be
recommended to apply the provisions of section 119 of the
Public Works Act to the Manawatu River Bridge on the
Foxton–Shannon Main Highway.”
Now, therefore, I, George James Anderson, Minister of
Labour, acting for Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister of Public
Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
the said section 7 and of every other power in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the pro-
visions of section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, in so
far as they provide for the apportionment of the cost of
construction, shall apply with respect to the apportionment
of the cost of construction of the Manawatu River Bridge
on the Foxton–Shannon Main Highway.

Classification of Roads in the Cook County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by
the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1925, and the Motor-lorry
Regulations Amendment No. 1, I, Richard Francis Bollard,
acting for and on behalf of Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister
of Public Works, do hereby approve of the Cook County
Council’s proposed classification of roads as set forth in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
CLASSIFICATION OF ROADS IN THE COOK COUNTY.
ROADS classified in the third class (available for the use thereon
of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is
licensed to carry, weighs not more than 6 tons)—
Gisborne–Opotiki, via Coast Road, from Gisborne Borough
Boundary to Pouawa, 13 miles.
Gisborne–Opotiki, via Motu Road, from Makaraka to the
Kaiteratahi Bridge, 10½ miles.
Gisborne–Wairoa, via Morere Road, from the Gisborne
Borough Boundary to the 19½ mile peg.
Gisborne–Wairoa, via Hangaroa Road, from the Waipaoa
River Bridge to the Hangaroa Junction, 21 miles.

Classification of Roads in the Waimairi County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by
the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1925, and the Motor-lorry
Regulations Amendment No. 1, I, Richard Francis Bollard,
acting for and on behalf of Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister
of Public Works, do hereby alter the Waimairi County Council’s
proposed classification of roads, and do hereby approve such
altered classification as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

CLASSIFICATION OF ROADS IN THE WAIMAIRI COUNTY.
ROADS classified in the third class (available for the use thereon
of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is
licensed to carry, weighs not more than 6 tons)—
McSaveney’s Road, Marshland.
Walter’s Road, Marshland.
Brigg’s Road, Marshland.
Reeve’s Road, Marshland.
Preston’s Road (from Grimsey’s Road to Bottle Lake Road).
Bottle Lake Road, Marshland.
Westminster Street, Marshland.
Hill’s Road (from Kelly’s Road to Preston’s Road).
Winter’s Road (from Grimsey’s Road to Hill’s Road).

Board of Trade Act, 1919, and Board of Trade Amendment Act, 1923.—Judicial Inquiry.
NOTIFICATION is hereby given that a judicial inquiry
under section 13 of the Board of Trade Act, 1919, will
be held into an industry within the meaning of the Act which
is carried on, or proposed to be carried on, in New Zealand by
an institution known as the Proprietary Articles Trade
Association.
In pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by section 5
of the amendment Act I have delegated the powers of judicial
inquiry conferred upon the Board of Trade by the principal
Act to
John William Collins, Secretary, Department of Industries
and Commerce ;
and, in pursuance of section 4 of the Board of Trade Amend-
ment Act, 1923, I have associated with him the following
experts for the purposes of this inquiry :—
