Dismissal from the Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the dismissal of the undermentioned soldier of the Territorial Force from the New Zealand Defence Forces, under section 6 (b), Defence Act, 1909, he having been convicted by the Civil power :—

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Auckland, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 17th day of August, 1927, on the proposal of the Auckland City Council to borrow the sum of £500,000, for the purpose of extending and duplicating the existing tram-tracks, the erection of omnibus depots (including garages), and acquisition of the necessary land therefor, and the provision of new tram-cars.
The number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows : Votes recorded for the proposal, 3,427 ; votes recorded against the proposal, 4,308 ; informal, 44.
I therefore declare that the foregoing proposal was rejected.

IN pursuance of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby declare the result of the poll held on the 4th August, 1927, on the proposal to borrow £785 for the purpose of completing the payments for work done on the Great North Road Highway to be as follows :—
Votes for the proposal, 13 ; votes against the proposal, 12 ; informal, 1.
The proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

THE following special order, made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 31st day of March, 1928, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER.
HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.
Resolution (to take effect as a special order) forming a new riding to be called the “Waimarama Riding,” and altering the boundaries of the Clive and Havelock Ridings.
IN pursuance of section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Council doth hereby resolve as follows :—

The Council doth hereby create a new riding in the Hawke’s Bay County to be called the Waimarama Riding, the boundaries of which riding shall be as follows : Commencing at the south-eastern corner of the Hawke’s Bay County at its intersection with the seacoast; thence bounded generally in a north-easterly direction by the seacoast to the south-east corner of Lot 2, deeds plan 915; thence generally in a north-westerly and westerly direction by the south boundary of said Lot 2 and the southern boundary of the property of F. L. Gordon, registered under certificate of title, Vol. 95, folio 256, to the Maraetotara River; thence northerly along that river to the north-east corner of Lot 6, deeds plan 485; thence generally south-westerly along north-west boundary of said Lot 6 to the centre of the Tukituki River; thence generally south-westerly along the centre of that river to its intersection with the Hawea Stream on the southern boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County; thence in a south and south-easterly direction along that boundary to the commencing-point.

The Council doth hereby alter the boundaries of the Clive Riding so that the boundaries thereof shall be as follows : Commencing at the Waitangi Bridge, thence generally south-westerly by the north boundaries of Waikahu, Te Punga, and Pakowhai Blocks to the Tutaekuri-Waimate Stream; thence following that stream to its junction with the Ngaruroro River; thence following the east boundary of the Heretaunga Riding to Danvers Creek, near Havelock; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Mangateretere East Block to the centre of Tukituki River; thence southerly along centre of said Tukituki River to the north-west corner of the Waimarama Riding herein described; thence north-easterly by the north boundary of said Waimarama Riding to the seacoast; thence following the seacoast in a north-easterly and north-westerly direction to the Waitangi Stream; thence westerly along said Waitangi Stream to the commencing-point at the Waitangi Bridge.

The Council doth hereby alter the boundaries of the Havelock Riding so that the boundaries thereof shall be as follows : Commencing at the south-east corner of the Mangateretere East Block; thence bounded in a south-westerly direction by the south-eastern boundary of the Clive Riding, herein described, and Heretaunga and Poukawa Ridings to the southern boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County; thence generally in a south-easterly and north-easterly direction along that boundary to the south-western corner of the Waimarama Riding herein described; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-westerly boundary of the said Waimarama Riding, and continuing along the centre of the Tukituki River to the commencing-point.
The foregoing resolution creating a new riding to be called the Waimarama Riding, and altering the boundaries of the Clive and Havelock Ridings was duly passed by the Hawke’s Bay County Council at a special meeting thereof, properly called and held in the County Offices in Browning Street, Napier, on the 25th day of May, 1927, at the hour of twelve noon, and was duly confirmed as a special order at a special meeting of the said Council notified in accordance with the provisions of section 99 of the Counties Act, 1920, and held this day at the hour of twelve noon in the County Offices aforesaid.
The Common Seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hawke’s Bay was hereunto affixed, this 11th day of July, 1927, in accordance with a resolution passed by the said Council in the presence of—
