Tenders for Inland Mail-service Contracts—North Island,
1928–30.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 20th July, 1927.

SEALED tenders will be received at the several Chief
Post-offices in the North Island until noon on Thursday,
the 1st September, 1927, for the conveyance of mails between
the undermentioned places, for a period of THREE YEARS,
from the 1st January, 1928:—

POSTAL DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

  1. Ahuroa and Puhoi, thrice weekly. (Alternative to
    Nos. 6, 23, and 161.)

  2. Auckland, Bayswater, and Takapuna, daily to and from
    Bayswater, thrice daily from and twice daily to
    Takapuna. (Alternative to Nos. 12 and 24.)

  3. Auckland: Junction of Orakei Road and St. Heliers,
    twice daily, and daily parcels.

  4. Auckland, Panmure, Pakuranga, and Howick, twice daily.

  5. Auckland, Red Vale, Silverdale, Orewa, and Waiwera,
    thrice weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 6, 22, and 23.)

  6. Auckland, Red Vale, Silverdale, Orewa, Waiwera, and
    Puhoi, thrice weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 1, 5, 22,
    23, and 161.)

  7. Auckland, Tryphena, Okupu, Whangapara, Okonga, and
    Port Fitzroy, weekly.

  8. Awanui, junction of Waiharara Road, Pukenui, and
    Houhora, fortnightly.

  9. (a) Awanui and Kaingaroa, thrice weekly.
    (b) Kaingaroa and Lake Ohia, twice weekly.
    (c) Lake Ohia and Matthew’s Homestead, weekly.
    (Alternative to Nos. 10 and 68.)

  10. Awanui and Kaingaroa, thrice weekly. (Alternative
    to No. 9.)

  11. Awhitu Wharf, Awhitu, and Awhitu Central, four times
    weekly.

  12. Bayswater Wharf, Bayswater, and Takapuna, daily to
    and from Bayswater, thrice daily from and twice
    daily to Takapuna. (Alternative to Nos. 2 and 24.)

  13. (a) Birkenhead, Glenfield, and Albany (part rural
    delivery along Main Road), daily.
    (b) Albany, junction of Coatesville Road and Dairy
    Flat, thrice weekly.

  14. Clevedon–Moumoukai: Clevedon, Ness Valley, and
    Moumoukai (rural delivery along Moumoukai Road
    to Horne’s), thrice weekly.

  15. Colville–Poihakene: Colville, Moehau, and Poihakene
    (rural delivery), weekly.

  16. Coromandel, Amodéo Bay, and Colville, weekly, with
    additional fortnightly trip when Colville steamer
    fortnightly.

  17. Coromandel Wharf and Post-office, as required.

  18. Coromandel and Whitianga, weekly, with additional trip
    fortnightly when no direct steamer.

  19. Dargaville, Mangawhare, Aratapu, Mititai, Te Kopuru,
    Tokatoka, Naumai, Tikinui, Raupo, Tangaihi, and
    Ruawai, twice weekly to Tangaihi, daily to other
    places.

  20. Dargaville steamers, Railway-station, and Post-office, as
    required.

  21. Dargaville, Tangowahine, Hoanga North Wharf, Kiriko-
    puni, and Tangiteroria, thrice weekly.

  22. Devonport, Red Vale, Silverdale, Orewa, and Waiwera,
    thrice weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 5, 6, and 23.)

  23. Devonport, Red Vale, Silverdale, Orewa, Waiwera, and
    • Puhoi, thrice weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 1, 5, 6,
    22, and 161.)

  24. Devonport and Takapuna, thrice daily from and twice
    daily to Takapuna. (Alternative to Nos. 2 and 12.)

  25. Donnelly’s Crossing, Tutamoe, and Waimatenui, twice
    weekly.

  26. Drury Railway-station, Runciman, Ramarama, and
    Bombay, twice daily.

  27. Glen Afton, Waimai, Pepepe, and Woodleigh, including
    Waikorea Road to Campbell’s (part rural delivery,
    part private bag delivery), thrice weekly. (Alterna-
    tive to Nos. 27A and 129, and Nos. 21, 30, 64, 65,
    and 66, Hamilton District.)
