Notice to Mariners No. 45 of 1927.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.

(1) Protected Anchorage for yachts discontinued.
(2) Wreck marking beacons installed.

(1) Previous Notices: Wellington Notices No. 38 of 1927 and 85 of 1915.
Position: Depot Point in lat. 36° 50′ S., long. 174° 48′ E. (approx.).
Details: The protected anchorage for yachts referred to in Notice to Mariners No. 85 of 1915 as “Area No. 4, Devonport,” will be discontinued as from 31st July, 1927.

(2) Position of Wreckage: About 110 yards south-eastward of the eastern corner of Chelsea Wharf.
Details: The position of the sunken hulk “Selwyn Craig” which was destroyed by explosives in July, 1919, is marked by two black and white triangular beacons in transit 337°, situated on Chelsea Wharf main approach, and by two similar beacons in transit 007°, situated on the Chelsea coal jetty. The point of intersection of the transit lines marks the position of the wreckage.
Remarks: There is a least depth of 35 ft. M.L.W.S. over the wreckage, but vessels should not anchor in its vicinity.

Notification of Approval of Rules, Waimarino Acclimatization Society.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 25 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I hereby notify that copies of the amendments to its rules made by the Waimarino Acclimatization Society on the 28th day of June, 1927, have been forwarded to me and were approved on the 6th day of July, 1927.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the license of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Southland Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Orakei Wharf: Alteration of Light.

Date of Alteration: 1st August, 1927.
Position: End of Orakei Wharf, lat. 36° 50′·6 S., long. 174° 49′ E. (approx.).
Abridged Description: Fl. W.R. ev. 12 sec., 18 ft., 6 M. (U).
Alteration: The fixed light with white and red sectors will be altered to an unwatched light showing a flash every twelve seconds, thus: flash, 3 secs.; eclipse, 9 secs.
Remarks: The structure and sectors will remain unchanged.
Charts affected: Nos. 1896—1970 (plan).

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.
