NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between ARTHUR PEACHY ALDRIDGE, of Dunedin, Consulting Engineer, and ARTHUR ERIC MELLOR ELLIS, of Dunedin, Electrical Engineer, under the style of “A. E. M. Ellis, successor to A. P. Aldridge,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of March, 1927. Any persons having claims against the late Partnership are requested to send particulars to Moore, Moore, and Nichol, Solicitors, Dunedin.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the NEW ZEALAND WHITE LEAD COMPANY, LTD.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an adjourned extraordinary meeting of shareholders held on 26th May, 1927, the following resolution was passed:—
“ That, as it is proved to its satisfaction that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue to carry on business, it is advisable to go into voluntary liquidation, and that JOHN SAVILLE RUSSELL, Public Accountant, Auckland, be, and is hereby appointed Liquidator of the company.”

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between JAMES HENRY LUKE and HENRY STACEY BRUNTON, carrying on business as Farmers at Wharepuhunga, near Te Awamutu, under the style or firm of “Luke and Brunton,” has been dissolved as from the 31st day of May, 1927, as far as concerns the said Henry Stacey Brunton, who retires from the said firm.

All debts due and owing by the said firm should be forwarded to James Henry Luke, who will continue to reside at the farm at Wharepuhunga.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Franklin County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road in north-east portion of Allotment 144 and portion of Allotment 125 of the Parish of Awitu—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: Notice is hereby given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Hall Street, Pukekohe, and are open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the 6th day of June, 1927, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the County Office, Hall Street, Pukekohe.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the pieces of land required to be taken: From north-east portion of Allotment 144, 2 roods 24·4 perches; from Allotment 125, 1 rood 22·2 perches; being the portions of the said allotments in the said Parish of Awitu, Block XIII, Titirangi Survey District, Franklin County, North Auckland Land District; coloured red and blue respectively on S.O. plan 24087.

BY direction of the Honourable Mr. Justice Herdman notice is hereby given that Friday, the 24th day of June, 1927, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court, Auckland, has been appointed as the time and place to make a call on all the contributories of the said company, and that the Official Liquidator of the company proposes that such call shall be for 7s. 6d. per share. All persons interested are entitled to attend at such day, hour, and place to offer objections to such call.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 2nd day of June, 1927, as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) to be known as the Wellington City Unemployment Loan 1927 (No. 2), authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemployment—namely, street construction on Grafton Road, a street in the city, and the completion of the levelling of the area at Lyall Bay which the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington are bound to level under the provisions of section 67 of the Second Schedule of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies’ Empowering Act, 1912—the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one eighty-fourth of a penny (1/84d.) in the pound on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years from the 30th day of June, 1927, or until the loan is fully paid off.
