Notice of Date of the Public Service Entrance Examination.
Office of the Public Service Commissioner,
Wellington, 10th May, 1927.
NOTICE is hereby given of the intention to hold the Public Service Entrance Examination on or about the 15th November, 1927, and following days.
For the examination a fee of £1 is payable.
Entries for the examination must be addressed “The Director of Education, Wellington,” and be sent so as to reach his office on or before the 8th September, 1927. Both male and female candidates will be admitted to the examination.
Late applications for the examination will be received up to the 22nd September if accompanied by a receipt for a late fee of 10s. (in addition to the £1 ordinarily payable) paid at some money-order office of the Post and Telegraph Department.
All entries must be made on the proper forms, which may be obtained from the office of the Education Department or of any Education Board.
No one, except in such cases as the Commissioner may declare to be special cases, shall be appointed to a cadetship in the Clerical Division unless his age at the time of appointment is not less than fifteen nor more than eighteen years.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.
I, WALTER HAROLD FLETCHER, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the National Progressive and Moderate Labour Party of New Zealand (Incorporated) is no longer in operation and has become defunct, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned domain will be offered for lease by public auction, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Thursday, 30th June, 1927, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—BLOCK XVI, GREYMOUTH SURVEY DISTRICT.—PAROA DOMAIN.
RESERVE 1061: Area, 3 acres 0 roods 6 perches. Upset annual rent, £2. Term, seven years.
The land is level, unfenced, considerably overgrown with gorse; soil fair.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.
- Lease fee (£1 1s.) and half-year’s rent shall be paid upon the fall of the hammer.
- Possession will be given on the day of sale.
- The lease shall be for a term of seven years.
- The rent shall be paid half-yearly, in advance.
- The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease, except with written consent.
- The lessee shall within twelve months of the date of his lease clear the land comprised therein of all gorse, sweet-briar, broom, or other noxious weeds and plants, and shall thereafter prevent the growth and spread of same during the currency of the lease.
- The lessee shall not be entitled to any allowance for improvements on the land at the expiration of the term or other sooner determination of the lease, but he shall have the right to remove any fences, gates, or other movable improvements effected by him within one month after such expiry or determination.
- The lessee shall pay all rates and taxes.
- The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee should fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.
Full particulars may be ascertained at this office.
Present lessee has the right to remove certain improvements within one month from expiry of lease.
