to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes,
Coutts Street, and Queen’s Drive, in the City of Wellington;
and for the purposes of such public work, the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken :

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street,
in the city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by
all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons
affected by the execution of the said public work or the
taking of the said land should, if they have well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to
the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and
send such writing within forty days from the first publication
of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed to
the Town Clerk at his said office.

I, WILLIAM HOWITT HASTINGS, M.B., B.Ch., Cantab.,
1906; M.R.C.S., England, 1905; L.R.C.P., London,
1905; now residing in Wanganui, hereby give notice that I
intend applying on the 2nd June next to have my name placed
on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ;
and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in
the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between HARRY BUCKLEY and JAMES
McGARVEY, carrying on business as General Carriers at
Devonport, near Auckland, under the style or firm of
“Buckley and McGarvey,” has been dissolved by mutual
consent as from the 20th day of April, 1927. All debts due
to the said late firm will be received at the late firm’s office,
Victoria Wharf, and all debts owing by the said late firm will
be paid by the said Harry Buckley, who will continue to carry
on the said business on his own account under the style or
firm of “Buckley and McGarvey.”

MANGAWARA RIVER DISTRICT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Ten-foot Special-rating Area.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Land Drainage Act, 1908, and the River Boards Act, 1908,
and all other Acts (if any) it in that behalf enabling, and
subject to the precedent consent of the Governor-General
under the provisions of the Finance Act, 1919, and its amend-
ments, and with the consent of the required majority of the
ratepayers of the Ten-foot Special-rating Area within the
Mangawara River District, the Mangawara River Board
hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of five thousand pounds, authorized to be
raised by the Mangawara River Board under the above-
mentioned Acts, for constructing and improving existing
drains and watercourses in the Ten-foot Special-rating Area
of the Mangawara River District, the said above Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence and one-
halfpenny in the pound on the rateable unimproved value of
all lands classified “A,” and one penny and one farthing in
the pound on the rateable unimproved value of all lands
classified “B,” and a rate of five-eighths of a penny in the

pound on the rateable unimproved value of all lands classified
“C” in the said Ten-foot Special-rating Area, comprising all
that area of land in the Auckland Land District commencing
at a point on the Tauhei Stream at the western corner of Lot
part 2, Block XIV, Hapuakohe Survey District, following that
boundary to the south corner of the aforesaid section; thence
following a right line forming the watershed between the Lake
and Rewi Drains, through Lots 3, 4, and 5 of Block XIV,
Hapuakohe Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Komoko-
rau Survey District, to the Tauhei-Taupiri Road, which along
in a northerly direction to the north corner of part Lot 33,
Block III, Komokorau Survey District; thence along the
eastern boundary of that section to its most eastern corner;
then ce following the south-eastern boundary-lines of Lots 3,
2, and 1, Blocks III and II, Komokorau Survey District, to
the south corner of Lot, 1 aforesaid; thence following the
south-western boundary of that section to a point 20 chains
west; thence following a right line due south-west to the
west boundary of part Lot 1, Block II, Komokorau Survey
District, which along to the Tauhei-Taupiri Road; thence
following along the western boundary of Lot 9, Block II,
Komokorau Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Lot
18, Blocks I and II, Komokorau Survey District; thence
along the eastern and southern boundaries of that section to
the Henry Road, which along to the boundary-line of the
Uapoto Drainage District; thence along that boundary to the
point of intersection of the western boundary of part Lot 1,
Block XIII, Hapuakohe Survey District; thence along that
boundary to the southern corner of the aforesaid Lot 1, Block
XIII, Hapuakohe Survey District, which along to the Taupiri-
Orini Road, which along to where the western boundary of
Lot 1 leads to and touches the Mangawara River: thence by
the eastern boundary of that river to the northern corner of
Lot 4, Block XIII, Hapuakohe Survey District; thence
along the end boundary of Lot 4 aforesaid to the Taupiri-
Orini Road, and along that road to the crossing of the Tauhei
Stream; thence following that stream to the western corner
of part Lot 2, Block XIV, Hapuakohe Survey District, the
point of commencement: and that such special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable on the 1st day of July in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the New Lynn Town
Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the New Lynn
Town Board Streets Improvements (Preliminary) Loan of
£5,800, authorized to be raised by the New Lynn Town
Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
undertaking and completing various streets improvements,
the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of
seven-sixteenths of a penny (7/16d.) in the pound sterling,
on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value)
of all rateable property in the whole of the New Lynn Town
District, and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned resolu-
tion was passed at an extraordinary general meeting
of shareholders held 30th March, 1927, and confirmed at a
subsequent extraordinary general meeting of shareholders
held 14th April, 1927.

RESOLUTION.—That the company be wound up voluntarily,
and that MR. HARRY CHARLES ROBINSON, Public Accountant,
and MR. NORMAN POWLEY CARLESS, Registered Accountant,
both of Auckland, be appointed the Liquidators thereof.
