Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 14th January, 1927.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District, held on the 1st December, 1926, on a proposal to raise a loan of £150,000 for the purpose of distributing electrical energy, the following votes were recorded:—
For the proposal, 555; against the proposal, 197;
and, as the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

Result of Election of a Member of the Gisborne Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Maungatautari Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Arapuni, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Classification of Roads in the Tamahere Road District.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1925, and the Motor-lorry Regulations Amendment No. 1, I, Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister of Public Works, do hereby alter the Tamahere Road Board’s proposed classification of roads, and do hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

CLASSIFICATION OF ROADS IN THE TAMAHERE ROAD DISTRICT.
Road classified in the Third Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 6 tons)—
Newstead to Eureka Avenue Road.
Roads classified in the Fifth Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 2½ tons)—
Matangi Post-office to Hinton’s Gully Road.
Matangi Post-office to Tauwhare Road.
Matangi Post-office to Tamahere Road.
Tauwhare to Morrinsville Road.

The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1926.—Income-tax payable.
BY Order in Council made and issued by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 20th day of September, 1926, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of income-tax, leviable under section 3 of the said Act, should be paid in one sum on Tuesday, the 8th day of February, 1927, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 1st March, 1927. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues: any overpayment will be adjusted by refund. The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about the 31st January, 1927. Demands must be presented with all payments, and taxpayers who expect a demand and do not receive one should notify me of the fact.
