Rangitikei River'; thence down the middle of that river to its intersection by a right line between Trig. Stations 32 and E (Aorangi); thence along that line to Aorangi, and along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the Makaroro and Waipawa Rivers, to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence southerly along the summit of that range to the source of the Pourangaki Stream; down the middle of that stream, the middle of the Kawhatau Stream, and the middle of the Rangitikei River, to the Awahuri-Bull's Road; along that road to the Oroua River at Awahuri; up the middle of that river to the North Island Main Trunk Railway line; along that railway-line, along Stony Creek Road, and along the Palmerston-Ashhurst Road to Section 457; thence along the south-western boundaries of Sections 457 and 456 to the Manawatu River; thence up the middle of that river and along the provincial district boundary to the sea at the mouth of the Waimata River; thence along the sea-coast southerly, westerly, and northerly, passing Cape Palliser and Cape Terawhiti to the mouth of the Wangaehu River, the point of commencement.

Open Season for Imported and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Westland Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of July, 1927 (both days inclusive) to be an open season in the Westland Acclimatization District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the following imported and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail, mallard duck, grey duck, and black swan; and the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., pukeko; and the period from the 2nd day of May, 1927, to the 8th day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in that part of the said district known as Wataroa, Cook's, and Karangarua River Flats, South Westland, for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., paradise duck; subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Chief Postmaster at Hokitika and the Postmasters at Ross, Kumara, and Okarito are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of grey duck, pukeko, and black swan, and five paradise duck.

Nothing in any license to take or kill imported and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported or native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

No person shall kill or destroy any such imported or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such imported or native game, with any automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight.

Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset.

No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons), on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

No person shall use any power boat or launch in connection with the taking or killing of imported or native game.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Westland Land District bounded on the north by the middle of the Taramakau River to the Hurunui Saddle in the Southern Alps; thence towards the south-west by a line along the summit of the said Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Awarua River in Big Bay; thence north-easterly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Taramakau River, the point of commencement.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 30th day of June, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Whangarei Acclimatization District, as described in the First Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3 and in the Second Schedule hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail, grey duck, black teal, and black swan; and the period from the 2nd May to the 31st May, 1926 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., pukeko; and the period from the 2nd day of January to the 31st day of March, 1928 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits and knots; subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game, including godwits and knots, within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native game—viz., godwits and knots—will be issued to any person on payment of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the secretary of the Whangarei Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

The number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed eight cock pheasants and twelve head in all of grey duck, black teal, and black swan.

All that area in the North Auckland Land District commencing at a point on the sea-coast opposite the mouth of the Mangawai Harbour; thence proceeding generally southerly up that harbour and along the stream, the eastern boundary of Section 15, Block III, Mangawai Survey District, and Section 31, Block I, Pakiri Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 16 and 78, Block I aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 78 and again southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 50; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 50, 51, and 56, Block I aforesaid, the southern
