A license issued pursuant to this notification to take or kill imported and native game (or native game only) shall entitle the owner thereof to take or kill native game in the Otago Acclimatization District during the period and subject, mutatis mutandis, to the conditions prescribed in the notification fixing an open season for native game in that district.

Shooting may begin one hour before sunrise and must cease one hour after sunset.

No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by any one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

No person shall use any power boat or launch in connection with the taking or killing of imported or native game.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the head of Bligh Sound and proceeding thence along a right line passing through Cloudy Pass and Castle Mount to the summit of the range forming the eastern watershed of the Clinton River; thence southerly along the summit of that range to Mount Eglington; along a right line to Round Peaks; along the summit of the western watershed of Lake Wakatipu to Jane Peak; thence along a right line to Eyre Peak, and down the middle of the Mataura River to the sea; thence westerly and northerly generally along the sea-coast to the point of commencement: including all adjacent islands, together with Stewart Island and the islands adjacent thereto.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Areas, in addition to those referred to in condition No. 3, excepted from the open season wherein native game shall not be taken or killed:—

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fee, &c., Stratford Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of July, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Stratford Acclimatization District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the following imported game and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, black teal, grey duck, and black swan—and the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of May, 1927 (both days inclusive) to be an open season in that part of the said district comprising one mile on each side of the East Road from Stratford to Pohukura for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., pukeko—subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Postmasters at Stratford, Toko, Midhirst, Whangamomona, Ngaere, and Te Wera are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

The number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twelve cock pheasants, and twenty-five head in all of black teal, grey duck, pukeko, and black swan.

Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.

No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing on the summit of Mount Egmont and proceeding thence along a right line to the intersection of the National Park Boundary Road and Surrey Road; thence along Surrey Road to Derby Road; along that road to Waipuku Stream; down that stream and up the Manganui Stream to the southern boundary of Block V, Huiroa Survey District; thence along the southern boundaries of Blocks V, VI, and VII, Huiroa Survey District, to the Makino River; down that river to its confluence with the Waitara River; up that river to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 11, Block IV, Huiroa Survey District, and of Section 22, Block I, Ngatimaru Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of said Block I to the Waitara River; up that river and along the south-western boundaries of Section 11, Block V, Sections 38, 40, and 42, Block VI, the eastern boundary of said Section 42 and the southern boundaries of Sections 41 and 36, Block VI, Ngatimaru Survey District, to the confiscation line; thence north-easterly along that line and along the western boundaries generally of Sections 11 and 9, Block XV, Upper Waitara Survey District, and Sections 1 and 2, Block XVI, Upper Waitara Survey District, to the Waitara River; thence up that river to and along the northern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block XII, Upper Waitara Survey District, the northern boundary of Section 8, Block IX, Pouatu Survey District, the western boundaries generally of Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block V, Pouatu Survey District, to the Makino North Road; along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 6, Block I; thence along the western boundaries generally of Sections 6, 7A, and 4, Block I, Pouatu Survey District, Sections 2 and 9, Block XIII, Waro Survey District, the northern boundaries of Sections 9 and 10, Block XIII, and Sections 5, 8, and 9, Block XIV, Waro Survey District, to Mount Damper Road; along that road to Mount Damper, and thence along a line due east to the Tangarakau River; thence southerly down the Tangarakau Stream to the confiscation line; thence south-westerly along the confiscation line to the western boundary of Block XVI, Waro Survey District; thence southerly along that said western boundary and its production to the 39th parallel south latitude; thence easterly along that parallel to the Ohura Stream; thence down the Ohura Stream to the Wanganui River; thence down the Wanganui River to the mouth of the Tangarakau River; thence by a right line from the mouth of the Tangarakau River to Whakaihuwaka (Mount Humphries) Trig. Station; thence in a south-east direction along the north-eastern boundary of Section 1 (Forest Reserve), Block III, Turakawa Survey District, to the Whakaihuwaka Road; thence south-easterly along the said Whakaihuwaka Road to Te Mapou trig.; thence southerly along the range and passing through Kotikiekie, Manaianahi, and Taungatahi to Rautauwhiri; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Block VII, Taurakawa Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Blocks VII, VI, and V, Taurakawa Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 2, Block V aforesaid; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block V aforesaid, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence across the Moeawatea Road and westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 5, Block VIII, Omona Survey District, across the Karewa Road, and along the southern boundaries of Sections 12 and 11, Block VII, Omona Survey District, to the south-western corner of the said Section 11; thence by the western boundaries of Sections 11 and 14, Block VII aforesaid, the southern boundaries of Section 8, Block II, Omona Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 1 of Subdivision 1 of Matemateonga Block; thence by the eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 6 and 7 and the southern boundary of Subdivision 7, Matemateonga Block, to the Patea River; thence by the Patea River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 11, Block VIII, Ngaire Survey District; thence to and by that section and by Block XII to Trig. Station B, Rahui, by Subdivision 15, Pukengahu Block, to the north-
