Buoy to be discontinued.
Position.-Lat. 35° 02½' S., long. 173° 46¼' E.
Details.-The buoy which exists at the northern end of the
shoal off Kopumiti Point, on the southern side of the approach
to Kopumiti Bay, will be discontinued at an early date. No
further notice will be given.

HARBOUR.

Soundings at Entrance.
Previous Notice.-No. 6 of 1926.
Position.-Kaipara Bar, lat. 36° 26' S., long. 174° 00' E.
Details.-On the 4th February, 1927, a line of soundings
was taken over the bar. There is a depth of 20 ft. of water
at mean low water springs with the rear leading beacon
midway between the lighthouse and the front leading beacon.
The deep water on the bar extends to the north-west as far
as a line which brings the lighthouse in transit with the rear
leading beacon. After crossing the bar inwards on these
marks a vessel must gradually haul up to get the front and
rear leading beacons in transit before reaching the North
Spit.

from the Admiralty, London, is published for general
information.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN-SAMOA ISLANDS, TUTUILA.
Anuu Island.-New light established.
Position.-On the summit of Anuu Island, in place of the
former light. Lat. 14° 19' S., long. 170° 33' W. (approx.).
Abridged description.-Fl. ev. 3 sec., 253 ft., 10 M.
Details.-The fixed red light has been discontinued and
replaced by a new light having the undermentioned
characteristics:-
Character.-Flashing white every three seconds, thus:
Flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 2·7 sec.
Elevation.-253 feet (77m1).
Visibility.-10 miles.
Power.-Not stated.
Structure.-White wooden square pyramidal tower, 15 feet
(4m6) in height.
