Notice as to an Area in Canterbury Land District declared to be a Fire District.
State Forest Service.
Wellington, 16th February, 1927.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22, and section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district; and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.
SCHEDULE.
BOTTLE LAKE PLANTATION FIRE DISTRICT.
Canterbury Land District.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by admeasurement 4,850 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks IV, VII, and VIII, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded generally as follows : Towards the south generally by Beach Road and Cemetery Road from the sea to the junction of the last-named road with Bottle Lake Road ; thence towards the south-west by a right line to the south-east corner of Rural Section 1682 ; thence towards the west by the eastern boundary of the last-named section, the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 1681, 1604, 1477, and the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 1472 ; thence towards the north-west generally by the road intersecting Rural Sections 1479 and 1473, and forming the north-west boundaries of Rural Sections 10527, 10571, 19571; 20278, 20279, and 21011 ; again towards the north-west by the road forming the north-west boundary of the last-named Section 21011 and continuing by that road to the sea ; thence towards the east by the sea to the place of commencement : As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 141/1 deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
