PART IV.—EXEMPTION FROM SALE BY NET WEIGHT.
Act, Section 18.
-
The articles named or indicated hereunder shall be exempt from the provisions of section 18 of the Act:—
-
Aerated waters, summer drinks, non-dutiable fermented drinks.
-
Alcoholic liquors which are subject to Customs duty.
-
Anchovies.
-
Calves’-feet jelly in tins or bottles.
-
Capers in bottles.
-
Cheeses (not including cheese pastes or prepared cheese).
-
Chutney in bottles.
-
Cider.
-
Pure-fruit cordials and syrups, flavoured cordials and syrups, artificial cordials and syrups, compound cordials.
-
Curry-powder.
-
Dried fish in blocks.
-
Dried dates.
-
Dried figs.
-
Dried fruits.
-
Fish in tins.
-
Flavoured non-alcoholic beverages.
-
Food-substances sold with directions to dilute to a definite amount or to taste (infants’ foods, prepared milk foods, and condensed and dried milk excepted).

Fruits in bottles.
-
Ginger in jars.
-
Ginger-beer powders and other beverage powders.
-
Honey in comb.
-
Hops in packages.
-
Jelly-crystals.
-
Lime-juice and lime-juice cordial and syrup, lemon-juice, lemon-squash, and lemon-juice cordial and syrup.

Medicinal mixtures compounded to order of purchaser.
-
New Zealand wines.
-
Oysters and other molluscs.
-
Ox-tongues.
-
Pickles in bottles.
-
Proprietary medicines.
-
Potted meat.
-
Meat and fish pastes.
-
Rennet.
-
Salt.
-
Sauces.
-
Soup in packages.
-
Soup-sausages.
-
Vegetables, preserved, in bottles or tins.
-
Yeast in packages.
-
Cigars and cigarettes.
-
Paints and colours packed in quantities of less than 2 oz. weight or 2 fluid oz. measurement.
-
Toilet and face creams.
-
Toilet and medicinal soaps.
-
Toilet preparations in tubes.
-
Tooth-pastes.
