to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  1. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.

(c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(d.) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

(e.) Professional tippers, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Stipendiary Stewards’ Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Wanganui Trotting Club were made and passed by such club on the 21st day of January, 1926, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

CHANGE OF NAME.

I, THE undersigned, HUMPHRY BAYLY, formerly known as “Humphry Bayly deLatour,” of Gisborne, Sheepfarmer, hereby give notice that by a deed-poll bearing even date herewith and intended to be forthwith enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Gisborne, I have assumed and adopted my said name of “Bayly” to be my surname in lieu of my previous family surname of “deLatour,” and that I shall henceforth use the surname of “Bayly” in lieu of the surname of “deLatour.”

AT a special general meeting of the above society, duly convened in accordance with the rules and held on the 28th day of January, 1926, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the society cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the society be wound up, and that W. A. MITSON and H. H. SYKES, Public Accountants, Dunedin, be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.”
